Hamas Attacks (Draft Description)

Hamas versus Israel is now one of the biggest conflicts on-going currently in the world.
Hamas, or officially, Islamic Resistance Movement, is a Sunni Islamic political and
military organization. Hamas currently governs the Gaza strip of Palestinian territories.
While its headquarters are in Gaza city, it also has a presence in the West Bank. It is
widely considered to be “dominant political force” Since 2007, it has fought countless
wars with Israel. On October 7th, Hamas launched a massive military attack on Israel
territories. As of October 13th the reported death toll of Israel has risen to more than
1,300. Hamas launched these attacks due to a number of reasons. The policies of the
far-right Israel government enabling settler violence in the occupied West Bank.
Furthermore, the Arab-Israel normalization made the leaders of Hamas compelled to
launch a siege. Moreover, Hamas felt confident after it managed to repair its ties with
Iran. One of the biggest factors of the Hamas attacks, is the constant conflict between
Palestine and Israel in which Israel constantly launches heavy blows to the Palestinian
citizens. Iran has denied any direct involvement but has expressed support for the
attacks. While on the other hand, the United States of America has fully expressed its
wishes to remain on Israel’s side. In retaliation, Israel has vowed to annihilate the
Hamas movement which rules the Gaza Strip. Israel, in revenge, has put the Gaza strip,
home to 2.3 million people, under an intense siege and launched a deadly bombing
campaign. As of October 13th, it is reported that more than 1,500 have lost their lives
and the number of wounded cross an excess of 6,600. As the war wages on, countries
try vehemently to evacuate their citizens from these areas. Israel is not allowing any
humanitarian aid into its siege of the Gaza strip until all hostages taken by Hamas are
released. The Red Cross pleaded with Israel to allow fuel in to prevent the overwhelmed
hospitals from “turning into morgues”. As the days wear on, the war seems to escalate
as bombs and missiles fall like rain. The children and families are left suffering with lack
of food and heavy physical injuries in these war-torn areas. As the conflicts escalate,
more people are sure to be hurt and more human lives are sure to be lost. As everyday
life goes on for most of the world, the children in these areas are constantly losing
family members and going hungry for days.
