The direct impact on education is evident due to the prevailing lack of digital literacy among
Indonesian students and teachers. According to a study conducted by Kurniawan et al. (2019),
it was discovered that the digital literacy skills of Indonesian students fell below the global
average. Their capacity to participate in online education, utilize digital materials, and
cultivate essential cognitive abilities required for the modern job market is impeded by this

Literasi adalah bagian yang terpenting dalam kehidupan yang menentukan kualitas hidup manusia,
dalam konteks pendidikan, Literasi adalah bagian penting proses dari pembelajaran salah satunya
adalah untuk para pelajar yang bertujuan mengembangkan potensi dan minat dalam membaca. Dan
ditemukan bahwa ternyata literasi di Indonesia telah menurun drastis. Indonesia
menempati ranking ke 62 dari 70 negara berkaitan dengan tingkat literasi, atau berada 10 negara
terbawah yang memiliki tingkat literasi rendah. Hal ini berdasarkan survei yang dilakukan Program for
International Student Assessment (PISA) yang di rilis Organization for Economic Co-operation and
Development (OECD) pada 2019.

Literacy is crucial aspect of life that directly impacts the overall quality human existence.
Within the realm of education, literacy holds significant importance as it plays a pivotal role in
the learning journey. This is particularly true for students who aspire to cultivate their
potential and foster a genuine interest in reading. It has been discovered that there has been
a significant decrease in literacy rates in Indonesia. Indonesia is positioned at the 62nd place
among 70 countries in terms of literacy levels, placing it among the 10 countries with the
