Abstract

Learning media is needed to support learning in the classroom. According to Ahmad, Fakhrudin,
Trimurtini, Kasanah (2018) in their research, Education has a strong influence on the development of a
country. In the teaching process it is necessary to use teaching methods that are very easy, so that
students can easily understand what is being trained. One of the easy teaching methods can be used as
media is Pop up book. This pop up book media is a visual media which includes 3D. The learning process
will be effective and efficient if an educator is able to select and sort and create appropriate learning
methods (Dewi, Sofyan, Priyono, 2022). A teacher must have skills or have new ideas using media to
develop student creativity. By providing an understanding of concepts and theories to students,
students can gain meaningful experiences directly (Permana and Sari, 2018). Pop up books can be
interesting media for students and can be learning media (Rahmawati and Rulyadi, 2018). Pop up book
media can be an alternative in developing students'' knowledge and critical thinking (Sinta, Sofyan, and
Priyono, 2022). The method used in this research is SLR (Systematic Literature Review), and is included
in a qualitative approach and 13 articles are used as references and theoretical basis to get the result
that Pop up books are an effective medium for learning English, especially for young learners. Authors
found that Pop up books can be used as alternative media to help teachers teach young learners, in
order to attract students' learning interest. Pop up books are also very practical to use as learning media
because this media can be taken anywhere and can also be used in rural schools where there is no
internet connection or other inadequate facilities.
