QUARTER 1: Supporting Children's Reading Development
(October 14,2022) REFLECTIONS GAINED During the LAC (Language and Communication) session, we FROM THE LAC SESSION: delved into the crucial topic of "Supporting Children's Reading Development." The discussion centered around the fundamental role that reading plays in a child's cognitive, linguistic, and emotional growth. It was emphasized that fostering a love for reading from an early age is essential for nurturing a lifelong passion for learning and self-improvement. The session highlighted various effective strategies to support children's reading development, such as promoting a print- rich environment, engaging in interactive read-aloud sessions, and providing access to diverse and age- appropriate reading materials. Moreover, the significance of parents, caregivers, and educators as reading role models was underscored, as their active involvement can significantly impact a child's literacy journey. By focusing on these strategies and recognizing the unique needs of each child, we can create a nurturing and stimulating environment that empowers young learners to become confident and proficient readers, setting them on a path to success in academics and beyond. QUARTER 2: Teaching Strategies for Learners with special need (November 11, 2022) REFLECTIONS GAINED During the LAC (Language and Communication) session, an FROM THE LAC SESSION: insightful discussion centered around "Teaching Strategies for Learners with Special Needs." The session emphasized the importance of inclusive education and tailoring teaching approaches to meet the unique needs of every learner. It was acknowledged that students with special needs possess diverse abilities and challenges, requiring a flexible and personalized teaching approach. The session delved into evidence-based strategies such as differentiated instruction, multisensory learning, and the use of assistive technology to enhance the learning experience for students with special needs. Educators were encouraged to employ a strengths- based approach, focusing on individual strengths and interests to foster engagement and motivation. (December 9, 2022) REFLECTIONS GAINED The LAC (Language and Communication) session provided FROM THE LAC SESSION: valuable insights into "Creating a Healthy Learning Environment." The session emphasized that a conducive learning environment plays a pivotal role in fostering academic growth, emotional well-being, and overall development in learners. Participants discussed the significance of a positive and supportive atmosphere, where students feel safe, respected, and encouraged to express themselves. The session highlighted the importance of well- organized classrooms with visually stimulating displays and accessible learning resources. Furthermore, the role of effective classroom management techniques and clear expectations in establishing a harmonious learning space was emphasized. QUARTER 4: Developing Writing skills in Learners of all age (March 10, 2023) REFLECTIONS GAINED During the LAC (Language and Communication) session, the FROM THE LAC focus was on "Developing Writing Skills in Learners of All SESSION: Ages." The session highlighted the significance of effective writing skills as a crucial aspect of communication and self- expression. Participants discussed various strategies to foster writing proficiency in learners, regardless of their age and proficiency level. The session emphasized the importance of providing ample opportunities for writing practice through creative prompts, journaling, and real-life scenarios. Additionally, educators were encouraged to teach writing as a process, guiding students through pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing stages to refine their work. The session also underscored the value of personalized feedback and constructive criticism to help learners grow and develop their writing abilities.
