COUNTING BEADS
This performance task is an educational activity
that combines hands-on learning, visual
representation and designed to evaluate their
proficiency in basic addition concepts and skills.

to assess their understanding of addition

Prepare the beads and sort it by color, shape, or size, depending
on your preference. Having a variety of bead types can make the
activity more engaging.
Cut the cord into 12-inch long.
Begin threading the thirty beads onto the cord. You can create
patterns if desired, or you can randomly mix the beads. Leave
some space at the ends to tie knots and secure the beads in place.
After threading the beads onto the cord, tie a knot at each end to
prevent the beads from sliding off. Make sure the knots are secure.
