An object is in motion when its
position changes in relation to a
reference point.

Reference Point
- It is anything you can compare the position
of an object.
Behind, beside, on top, above,
below, and under are some of
the words you can use in
describing the position of an
object.
In the illustration, the cat moved
from under to behind the chair. The
chair is the reference point.

The position of the cat
