II. RATIONALE
1. RATIONALE FOR PROPOSAL 1
This presents a novel approach to augmenting the user experience
of the iconic Cessna 152 aircraft through the integration of augmented
reality (AR) technology. The Cessna 152, a renowned training aircraft,
has long served as an essential platform for aspiring pilots. However,
traditional methods of instruction and familiarization often lack the
depth and interactivity needed to enhance the learning process. Our
research explores the development and implementation of an augmented
reality application specifically designed for the Cessna 152. By leveraging
AR technology, we aim to provide users with a more immersive and
interactive experience when interacting with this aircraft. This
augmented reality application enables users to explore the Cessna 152 in
unprecedented detail, fostering a deeper understanding of its mechanics,
systems, and operational procedures

2. RATIONALE FOR PROPOSAL 2

The Fault-Tolerant Avionics System introduces a pioneering
approach to aviation safety through the development of a fault-tolerant
avionics system capable of seamlessly substituting an aircraft's alternate
system in the event of a failure or malfunction. Aircraft systems have
long relied on backup or alternate systems to maintain operational
integrity in the face of unforeseen failures. However, existing solutions
often suffer from limitations in responsiveness, redundancy, and
adaptability. Our research presents a comprehensive framework for a
fault-tolerant avionics system that not only detects and mitigates failures
but also offers a highly adaptable and swift transition to substitute
critical functions.

3. RATIONALE FOR PROPOSAL 3

This proposal design introduces an innovative system called the
"Intelligent Apparatus Recorder," which combines Arduino-based
technology with compact biometric authentication for enhanced security
and accountability in tool management. The system utilizes fingerprint
authentication to grant access exclusively to authorized personnel,
typically professors. Each tool is equipped with a QR code and an access
code, enabling efficient tracking and monitoring. The system's core
functions include fingerprint recognition to unlock tools and generate
unique QR codes corresponding to each tool in a centralized database.
Upon returning a tool, users can re-scan the QR code to securely lock it
back in place. This system offers a comprehensive solution for tool
management, ensuring security, accountability, and efficient resource
tracking.

III. OBJECTIVES
● Proposal 1 Objectives
● To provide an enhanced learning experience through an immersive
learning environment through AR. Students' comprehension of the
Cessna 152's systems and functionality can be improved by
allowing them to virtually examine the cockpit and other aircraft
parts.
● To ensure that the software is capable of highlighting potential
hazards and errors within the aircraft (Cessna 152) and by
providing safety measures, procedures, and guidance to the
user/learner.
● By implementing augmented reality (AR) for learning the Cessna
152 can be more efficient financially. Considering factors such as
aircraft material and maintenance expenses compared to
application maintenance.
● 4 (Accessibility)
● To provide recommendations and insights for the integration of AR
technology into the avionics curriculum and aviation training
programs
● Proposal 2 Objectives
● If/when a system issue arises in an aircraft, this fault-tolerant
avionics system aims to resolve it, even during flight(?).
● It examines the pre-existing system for any errors or issues it
might have, then uses a programmed solution that is embedded in
the fault-tolerant avionics system to resolve the error.
● The fault-tolerant system would rectify any flaws the original
system may have and replace what is required, negating the
requirement to use the backup system that most aircraft have.
● To evaluate the reliability and effectiveness of the fault-tolerant
system in maintaining or enhancing aircraft safety during critical
situations
● To contribute to the advancement of aviation safety by providing
insights into the role and feasibility of fault-tolerant avionics
systems as substitutes for alternate systems
● Proposal 3 Objectives
● One important objective is to make certain that the device
known as the recorder accurately gathers and archives data.
The Arduino-based solution ought to reduce mistakes and
offer trustworthy data recording.
● Real-Time Monitoring: If suitable, the system could look to
offer real-time monitoring features that enable users to
remotely analyze or control the device and its information
stored within it.
● Determining complete documentation for the installation,
configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the
system.
● Ensuring that the system is compatible with various
operating systems and devices to maximize its usability and
reach.
● Collaboration among the open-source community members
is encouraged in order to improve the system's features and
functionality.
