WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

PRELUDE

CALL TO WORSHIP
The Holy One has been our hope and our home.
God has been with us from generation to generation.
We flourish and fade, bloom and renew in God’s time.
Our lives are temporal and precious and glorious.
May the compassion and favor of the Holy One be with us.
May we be glad and prosperous in our work for our God!

INVOCATION
Righteous God, your law is love. Your message is love. Your presence is love. May Love fill our
atmosphere and our interactions as we gather together in your name. May Love transform us, renew
us, and revive us. Amen.

PRAYER RESPONSE Sanctuary (See Below or Attachment)

Lord prepare me to be a sanctuary, Pure and holy tried and true
With thanksgiving, I'll be a living Sanctuary for You

Luke 18:1-8 - The unjust judge with the question about Jesus, "Will he find faith on earth?"
1 Then Jesus[a] told them a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart. 2 He said, “In

a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor had respect for people. 3 In that city there
was a widow who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Grant me justice against my accuser.’ 4 For a while he
refused, but later he said to himself, ‘Though I have no fear of God and no respect for anyone, 5 yet
because this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice, so that she may not wear me out by
continually coming.’ ”[b] 6 And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God
grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long in helping them? 8 I
tell you, he will quickly grant justice to them. And yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on
earth?”

HYMN Pass it on (See Attachment)

Matthew 22:34-40 - Greatest Commandment --How we show faith

34 When the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together, 35 and one of

them, an expert in the law, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which commandment in the
law is the greatest?” 37 He said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with
all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 And a second is
like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and
the Prophets.”

HYMN They Will Know We Are Christians by Our Love (See Attachment)

Matthew 24:32-35 - Lessons of the fig tree --Only faith remains

32 “From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you

know that summer is near. 33 So also, when you see all these things, you know that he[a] is near, at the
very gates. 34 Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken
place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

HYMN Shine Jesus Shine (See Attachment)

Mark 4:21-25 - Faith lights the world

21 He said to them, “Is a lamp brought in to be put under the bushel basket or under the bed and not on

the lampstand? 22 For there is nothing hidden, except to be disclosed; nor is anything secret, except to
come to light. 23 If you have ears to hear, then hear!” 24 And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you
hear; the measure you give will be the measure you get, and it will be added to you. 25 For to those who
have, more will be given, and from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.”
