Inspection Lessons Learned

Questionnaire

1. Did the inspection meet the author’s and team’s objectives? If not, why not?

Yes, inspection meets the author's and team's objectives. The objective was to identify and resolve
issues in the requirements and UML modeling, and the inspection team successfully identified and
resolved those issues. We evaluate the completeness, correctness, clarity, and consistency of the
requirements and map those requirements with UML modeling. We evaluate UML modeling identify
and resolve issues that found during inspection.

2. Does the team feel they were able to significantly improve the quality of the work
product through the inspection?

Yes, the team feel they were able to significantly improve the quality of the work product through the
inspection. Because we identify issues and ambiguities early in the development process, before they
become more costly and time-consuming to fix. By resolving these issues early on, the team can
ensure that the requirements are complete, correct, and unambiguous, which can ultimately lead to a
higher quality software product.

3. Did everyone have sufficient time to do preparation? If not, how much time do they
need prior to the inspection meeting?

Yes, all the team members have sufficient time to review the requirements thoroughly before the
inspection meeting and they provide meaningful feedback during the inspection meeting. They were
given 2 days to review all the requirements and UML modeling. This allows them to fully familiarize
themselves with the requirements and UML modeling to identify any potential issues or questions
they may have.

4. Did anyone use the checklist or rules for this type of work product during
preparation? Was it helpful in finding defects? Can the checklist or rules be
improved?

Yes, all members of our group made use of the checklist or rules that were provided during the
preparation phase, and we found them to be highly beneficial at every stage of the inspection process.
The fact that we were able to use the checklist effectively is definitely a positive sign, and we believe
it contributed significantly to our ability to identify defects. While we were pleased with the
effectiveness of the current checklist and rules, we are always looking for ways to improve our
processes. Therefore, we plan to review the checklist and rules to see if there are any areas where
they could be refined or expanded to make them even more useful in the future.

5. Were the right participants present? If not, who was missing or didn’t need to be there?

Yes, all of the participants were present at the designated time during the inspection, and nobody
failed to fulfill their responsibilities.

6. Were the inspection entry and exit criteria followed correctly?

Yes, the inspection entry and exit criteria were followed correctly. The group made sure to carefully
review and adhere to the established criteria throughout the inspection process. This helped ensure
that the work product was thoroughly evaluated and that any defects were identified and documented
appropriately. Following the inspection entry and exit criteria correctly is an important aspect of a
successful inspection, and the group made it a priority to do so.

7. How could the meeting be run better?

There are several ways that the inspection meeting could be run better. Here are some suggestions:
1. By establishing clear goals and objectives.
2. By managing the time effectively.
3. Follow up on action items.
4. By implementing these suggestions.

8. Does anyone need help in being able to participate effectively in inspections?

Yes, one of the participants needed help in being able to participate effectively in inspections because
of a lack of familiarity with the inspection process and the concepts related to the inspection.

9. Are there any other suggestions for improving the inspection process?

Yes, there are several suggestions for improving the inspection process. Some of these include:
1. It's important to clearly define the scope and purpose of the inspection so that all participants
understand what is expected of them.
2. It's important to establish clear roles and responsibilities for all participants in the inspection
process. It helps to ensure that everyone knows what is expected of them.
3. Using standardized inspection checklists, you can ensure that each inspection aspect is addressed
and no crucial information is missed.
