Case Scenario: The Unsettled Transition to the Metaverse

At BrightFuturix Inc, a progressive tech company, the implementation of the metaverse and
advanced immersive technologies has caused resistance among a section of employees. The
introduction of the metaverse has led to feelings of insecurity and incompetence, particularly
among long-term employees. One such employee, Sarah Johnson, who has been with the
company for 15 years, is struggling to adapt to the new technology. She feels left out and
worries about becoming obsolete. One day, as a usual routine, Sarah was having lunch with her
friend Alice who works for Sales section of the company and suddenly there was an
announcement in the employee’s dining hall that from the very next day onwards, the
employees will not come to office physically but will be working from home till further notice.
