The purposes of this structural analysis for Corvette 650 tonnage is assess fatigue damage to
estimate ship’s structure life time. MSC Patran is used for pre-processor and MSC Nastran is
used for pre-processor.

Scope of this analysis
a. Stress value for fatigue calculation are base on FE static analysis result and Fine Mesh
Model result.
b. S-N Curve is applied to calculate stress life.
c. Fatigue calculation is using linear cumulative damage from Palmgren Miner’s rule.

5. ANAYSIS MODEL AND CALCULATION RANGE


a. Range model : Whole ship modeled without provisions or weaponry. Shown in figure 1.

The boundary condition adopted in this analysis is shown in figure 1.

Ship Classification Malaysia.

6. FATIGUE STRENGTH CRITERIA


The cumulative fatigue damage D calculated for the combined equivalent stress is to comply
with the following
