1. INTRODUCTION
This document presents the barge local structural strength check during load-out operation of SV-CPP
Deck from fabrication yard onto transportation/float over barge “Holmen Pacific”.
The strength checks for barge local structure are carried out based on the following parameters: -
➢ The maximum vertical reaction along DSF row 4 for load scenarios D and E which extracted
from provided DSF structural integrity check during loadout (doc. no.: 05-1_EPC-SV-AEI-N-
RA-03060; Rev D1) is taken into consideration of barge local strength check. The detailed
providing calculation results are extracted and included in Appendix B.
➢ The skid beams Row 4 and Row 6 are symetrically arranged 12.0m offset from barge center
line. Vertical reaction along skid beams Row 4 and Row 6 will be taken by barge
frame/bulkhead/sideshell. Tank ballast water during deck loadout is also considered for barge
local strength calculation.
Detailed reaction force selection, barge local strength and miscellaneous calculations are presented in
Appendix A.

2. SUMMARY
The strength checks of the barge local structure were performed to evaluate structural strength for the
Load-out of SV-CPP Deck from the fabrication yard onto the launch/floatover barge “Holmen
Pacific”.
The barge local structural checks were based on AISC Manual of Steel Construction ASD 9th
Edition. The calculation is based on max. reaction at DSF for all considered load cases provided in
DSF loadout analysis. The detailed barge strength calculations are included in Appendix A.
The barge local structure strength is found within allowbable limit with strengthening by extension
skid beam wing plate as detailed at appendix B.

4. CONCLUSION
The barge local structural was checked for the simulated forces during the load-out operation of the
SV-CPP Deck based on AISC Specifications and found to be structurally adequate with proposed
barge frame strengthening by extension skid beam wing plate. The barge frame strengthing details are
included at appendix B.

2. REACTION FORCE ALONG SKIDWAY ROW 4 AND 6 ON BARGE SKID BEAM
Based on DSF structural integrity check during loadout (SV CPP Deck Support Frame Load Out Analysis Report; 05‐1_EPC‐SV‐AEI‐N‐RA‐03060; Rev D1),
The ID of Row 4 DSF's support during loadout are as follow (joint ID D401 to 482):‐
Due to symmetrical arrangement of skid beams on barge, the max. reaction force at DSF along row 4 will be used to check barge local structural strength.
The worst load combination case D and E with shifted deck CoG to ‐X direction will be considered since this will create worst input for barge local analysis.
The load combination from D400/E400 to D444/E444 (cantilevel at DSF trailing end) and D500/E500 to D671/E671 (partial +/‐25mm displacement at 3 joints
along skid beam) will be considered as this represented the situation once the deck loaded onto the barge step by step.
The reaction from DSF will spread through barge skid beam to barge structure. Maximum reaction along skid beam appeared at deck leg area. 3 modelled joints
at each deck leg locations which is within deck leg stub diameter will be considered as base load applied (joint D423 to D425 for Row A; D458 to D460 for Row B).
Since the stiffness of DSF is much stronger than barge skid beam, the deflection of barge skid beam will spread the load uniformly to barge local structure.
However, the barge local structure will be checked with conservative approaching load cases i.e. with cantilivel and partial displacement along skid beam as considered
in the provided analysis (SV CPP Deck Support Frame Load Out Analysis Report).
Barge skid beam height, from deck to top of flange = 2.00 m
Joint spacing along DSF = 0.74 m (60m length, 81 joints)
No. effective joint to spread the load to barge at deck leg area (each side) = 6.75 Nos. Say 7 nos.
No. effective base joints at deck leg area = 3.00 Nos.
Total effective joints to spread the load to barge structure at deck leg = 17.00 Nos Red highlighted above
Max. load due to cantievel at trailing end (load case D400/E400 to D444/E444)

4. BARGE LOCAL CAPACITY CALCULATION
Based on the latest ballast plan during loadout which extracted in below, the max. tank fill percentage when the load transferred to
barge skid beam is 69% at stage 3 ‐ tank 9S/9P (13.5m pulled distance ‐ first leg is crossing the quayside). Hence 69% tank water ballast fill hydrostatic
pressure is also taken into consideration of longitudinal bulkhead capacity calculation without negative effect of opposite center tank
for conservative. Detailed ballast plan for all tanks is included in Appendix B of report.
