1 Finger bling Make like a pop diva and add some eccentric bling to your fingers with H&H nails (from $48
per nail). Designers Holly Silius and Hannah Warner create “an unbelievable assortment of odd nail jewelry,”
says Trend Hunter, and they count Billboard queens Rihanna and Beyoncé among their fans. Rapper M.I.A.
rocks a set of H&H’s gold jaguar nails in her most recent music video, but you can also choose nails sculpted
to look like scarabs, spiders, wild thistle, or nude women. They’re made of silver, gold, black ruthenium, and
other precious materials.

2 The wearable pillow Power napping just got easier, says CNN. Pull an Ostrich Pillow ($99) over your head
and you instantly find yourself in a dark, quiet personal space where it won’t matter what people nearby are
saying about you. An opening for your mouth and nose allows easy breathing, and the padding softens any
surface you lean on. Hand holes have been built in too, adding extra comfort when you want to put your head
down on your desk and take 20 minutes to recharge your battery.

3 Bang bang bling Jessica Mindich, owner of Jewelry for a Cause, “gives lethal weapons gorgeous second
lives,” says Oprah.com. For her Caliber Collection ($150 and up), she worked with Newark Mayor Cory
Booker to develop the concept of using the brass and steel salvaged from guns seized and shell casings
collected by the city’s police. Mindich’s team turns the metal into cast bracelets, cuffs, and cuff links, each
embossed with a gun’s serial number and the word “Newark.” Mindich has pledged to donate a fifth of the
proceeds to a gun buyback program, and she hopes to soon bring the concept to other high-crime cities.

4 Big Big Wheels Your days spent riding a brightly colored Fisher Price tricycle are almost certainly in your
rearview mirror. But for adults who refuse to grow up, there’s the High Roller Adult Size Big Wheel Trike
($675, Amazon.com). The three-wheeler features a heavy-duty steel frame, and a 26-inch front wheel. And
fear not: This trike supports over 275 pounds.

5 See like a Beatle “Imagine all the people seeing 20/20,” says Oprah.com. With its instant-prescription
John Lennon eyeglasses (from $105), Adlens is hoping to do more than imagine. Dials on the frames adjust
liquid inside the lenses to achieve prescription-accurate vision correction for either nearsightedness or
farsightedness. And for every pair purchased, Adlens is also sending a second pair to Rwanda, where an
estimated 1 million citizens need glasses. The Lennon frames are Yoko Ono–approved, but two other styles
are available. And don’t worry: The bulky dials are removable once the lenses have been set.

6 Protect your head in style Air bags and haute couture come together in the Hövding Invisible Helmet
($528) for cyclists. Though this Swedish product seems ridiculous at first, says The New York Times, “it
was perhaps inevitable that the helmet evolve from hair-flattening safety necessity to accessory,” given the
rising number of bike riders in metropolitan areas. Deflated, it merely looks like a jacket collar or plush scarf.
However, attached sensors detect sudden changes in velocity or angle that indicate an accident. That’s when
it inflates within a tenth of a second to resemble “a futuristic headpiece in a Björk music video.”

7 Grade school speed demons “It’s never too soon to set a child on the road to mega-consumption,” says
the Los Angeles Times. And the new Porsche Go-Kart ($900) does the trick. Built for young drivers who weigh
up to 110 pounds, the pedal-powered, steel-framed über-toy features a sport seat, composite rims, low-profile
inflatable tires, and Porsche’s familiar Stuttgart coat of arms. The trouble with the long slog of childhood, up
until now, was “the complete lack of luxury vehicles.” Suddenly, being a kid doesn’t look so bad.

8 The portable resort When you really want to kick back at the beach, a mere folding chair won’t do. At 22
pounds, the LoungePac ($280) never likes to roam far from a boardwalk, but it’s practically “a portable all-in-
one resort.” Twin coolers suited for a wine bottle and a cold supper sit at your elbows; pour a glass and the
built-in cupholders will keep your chosen drink sand-free. At the end of the day, the chair folds up and can
be carried using backpack straps or rolled away on its wheels. But with its cushy seat and optional stereo
speakers, “why would anyone need to book a hotel room?
