How to eliminate the most common stains

Temperature control knob
It is used to set the wash tempe-
rature indicated in the
programme table. It also allows
you to reduce the temperature
recommended for the selected
programme, and even to set a
cold wash cycle ( ).
Drying cycle knob
Use this knob to select the desired
drying cycle. Two options are
available:
A - Based on time:
From 40 minutes to 150.
B - Based on the damp level of
the dry clothes:
Iron : slightly damp clothes,
easy to iron.
Wardrobe : dry clothes to put
away.
Extra dry : very dry clothes,
recommended for towelling and
bathrobes.
A cooling stage is foreseen at the
end of the drying cycle.
Detergent dispenser
It is divided into three
compartments:
1. Detergent for pre-washing;
2. Detergent for the wash cycle;
3. Fabric softeners,
starches, perfumes.

This contains the descriptions of
the wash programmes and the
various functions connected to
the buttons. Pull it outwards to

Easy iron
This function allows your
washing to come out of the
machine without creases,
making it much easier to iron.
You can use it with programmes
3-5 (Cotton), 6-7 (Synthetics) and
10 (Delicates).
Press this button in programmes
6-7-10 and the wash cycle will
come to a stop on symbol .
You can complete it by pressing
button F again.
Notes:
- This function should not be
used when button I (stain

Slow spin
Use this button to reduce the
spinning speed from 1000 to 500
rpm for the cotton programmes
and from 850 to 500 rpm for the
synthetic fabrics programmes.
Rapid wash
This button reduces the length of
the wash programme by about
30%. It cannot be used with

Thanks to this command, Mar-
gherita will carry out a more in-
tensive wash that optimises the
effectiveness of the liquid
additives, thus allowing more
resistant stains to be removed.
When you press the stain removal
button, you cannot activate the
pre-wash cycle.
On-off
When button L is pressed, the
washer-dryer is switched on,
when it is not the machine is
switched off. Turning the
appliance off does not cancel
the selected programme.
On-off lamp / door locked
Lamp M flashes slowly when the
appliance is switched on and
awaiting instructions and at the end
of a cycle, indicating that the door
can be opened. It flashes quickly
when the door should not be
opened. A steady light means the
appliance has accepted the selected
programme.
Drying cycle lamp
When this lamp is on, it means
that knob C has been set on a
drying cycle and at the end of the
wash cycle, the appliance will run
the selected tumble drying cycle.

The data found in the table is purely indicative, and can vary according to the quantity and type of washing, the water system
temperature and the room temperature.

Special programmes
Class A at 40°C Margherita has a special programme to allow you to obtain optimum results even at low temperatures.
By setting programme 4 at a temperature of 40° C, the results you will obtain will be the same as you would normally obtain at 60°C
thanks to the washer-dryer’s action and the length of the wash cycle.
Daily wash Margherita has a programme studied for the washing of lightly soiled garments in a short amount of time.
By setting programme 8 at a temperature of 30°C, you can wash different types of fabrics together (except for wool and silk), with a
maximum load of 3 kg. This programmes allows you to save on both time and energy as it only lasts around 30 minutes. We
recommend the use of liquid detergent.

Never use your washer-
dryer to wash... torn, fraying or
non-hemmed linen. If it is
absolutely neccessary, place it in
a bag for protection. Brightly
coloured linen with whites.
Watch the weight!
For best results, do not exceed
the weight limits stated below

How to wash almost anything
Curtains.
Curtains tend to crease a great
deal. Here is a tip to reduce
creasing: fold the curtains and
place them in a pillow case or
mesh bag. Do not load anything
else, so that the overall weight
does not exceed the half load.

When Margherita
arrives
Whether new or just transported to a new house,
installation is extremely important for the correct
functioning of your washer-dryer.
After removing the appliance
from its packaging, check that it
is intact. If in doubt, contact a
qualified technician immediately.
The inside of the machine is
blocked, for transportation, by
four screws on the back panel.
Before using the washer-dryer,
remove the screws, remove the
rubber with the aid of the special
spacer (keeping all the parts) and
use the plastic tabs provided to
fill in the holes.
Important: Use the cap (provided)
to close the 3 holes which housed
the stop pin, situated in the right-
hand part of the lower back of the
washer-dryer.

Levelling
The washer-dryer must be levelled
appropriatey in order to guarantee
its correct functioning. To level the
appliance, the front feet must be
adjusted; the angle of inclination,

Connection to the water

Water pressure must range within
the values indicated on the data
plate on the rear of your washer-
dryer. If the water pipes are new
or left unused, then before
connecting the machine run the
water until clear to remove
debris. Connect the inlet hose to
a cold water tap having a ¾ “ BSP
thread. Ensure that the rubber
sealing washer-dryers are fitted at
each end of the inlet hose, with the
fitter washer-dryer at the tap end.

Connecting the drain
hose
There are two hooks (right or
left) on the rear of your washer-
dryer to which the drain hose is
to be fixed. Insert the other end
in a duct or place it on the edge
of a sink or tub avoiding
excessive kinks and bending. It
should be placed at a height
ranging from 60 to 100 cm. In
case it is necessary to fix the end
of the hose at a height below 60
cm from the ground, it must be
fixed in the appropriate hook
placed on the upper part of the
back panel.

hose ends at a height below 60 cm.
If the tube drains into a tub or
sink, apply the plastic guide and
tie it to the tap.
The guide for draining into tubs and
sinks.
It must never remain immersed
in water.
Extensions are unadvisable. In
case of absolute need, the
extension must have the same
diameter as the original hose and
must not exceed 150 cm. In case
of wall draining pipes, their
efficiency must be checked by a
qualified technician. If the
dwelling is on one of the upper
floors of a building, there may be
drain trap problems causing the
washer-dryer to load and unload
water continuously.
In order to avoid such an
inconvenience, special anti-drain
trap valves are available in shops.
Electric connection
Before connecting the appliance
to the electric socket, be sure
that:
1) the electric socket is able to
sustain the appliance’s
maximum power load
indicated on the data plate
and in compliance with the
law;
2) the supply voltage is included
within the values indicated
on the data plate;
3) the socket is compatible with
the appliance’s plug. If not,
do not use adapters, but
replace either the socket or
the plug;
4) electric household appliances

It is just as important for you to keep it in shape.

Margherita is a washer-dryer
designed to last a lifetime
without any problems. A few
simple steps help keep it in shape
and last longer. Firstly, you must
close the water tap after each
wash: the constant pressure of
water could warp a few of the
component parts.
In addition, by doing so, you will
avoid the risk of leaks when no-
one is at home.
If the water in your area is too
hard, use a deliming product
(water is hard if it often leaves
whitish stains around taps or
drains, especially of bath tubs.
For more accurate information as
to the type of water in your
system, call the local water
works or a local plumber).
Pockets must always be emptied
removing even pins, badges and
any other hard object.
The washer-dryer exterior should
be cleaned with a rag dipped in
lukewarm water and soap.
It is important to
wash the detergent
dispenser regularly.
To prevent dried
washing powder from
accumulating, place
the dispenser under
running water for a
few minutes.
Never exaggerate with
doses.
Normal detergents already
contain deliming agents. Only if
the water is particularly hard,
that is, rich in lime content, do
we recommend the use of a
specific product at every wash.
A periodical wash cycle with a
dose of a deliming product,
without detergents or washing,
may prove useful.
Never use too much detergent or
additives because this could cau-
se an excess amount of foam,
scaling and possible damage to
the component parts of your
washer-dryer.

Do not forget to empty all pockets: small objects can cause

damage to your friend Margherita.

When in need, check the pump and the rubber hose.

Margherita comes equipped with a self-cleaning pump that does not require any cleaning or maintenance. Small objects
may accidentally fall into the pump: coins, hair clips, loose buttons and other small items. To avoid possible damage,
they are withheld in an accessible pre-chamber, situated at the lower end of the pump.

To access this pre-chamber, just remove the panel covering the

bottom of the washer-dryer using a screwdriver (figure 1); then
lift the cover rotating it anti-clockwise (figure 2) and check its
contents accurately.

The rubber hose

Check the rubber hose at least once a year. If you see any
cracks, replace it immediately. When you use your washer-
dryer, water pressure is very strong and a cracked tube
could easily split open.

Attention: make sure that the wash cycle has come to a full stop and unplug the appliance before removing the
lid as well as before any type of maintenance procedure. It is normal to find that a little water comes out after
removing the lid. When replacing the panel, make sure you insert the hooks situated at the bottom of the washer-
dryer in the right slots before pushing it back against the appliance.

Mando de secado
Este mando sirve para elegir el
tipo de secado. Se han previsto
dos posibilidades:

Programas especiales
Clase A a 40 °C Margherita dispone de un programa especial para ofrecerte óptimos resultados de lavado incluso a bajas temperaturas.
Predisponiendo el programa 4 a la temperatura de 40 °C, los resultados son los mismos que normalmente se obtienen a 60 °C, gracias a la acción de
la lavasecadora y al aumento de la duración del lavado.
Lavado diario Margherita cuenta con un programa estudiado para lavar prendas ligeramente sucias en poco tiempo. Predisponiendo el programa 8
a la temperatura de 30 °C es posible lavar conjuntamente tejidos de diversa naturaleza (excluidas lana y seda), con una carga máxima de 3 kg.
Este programa permite ahorrar tiempo y energía, ya que dura sólo alrededor de 30 minutos. Aconsejamos usar detergente líquido.

La presión hídrica debe estar com-
prendida entre los valores indica-
dos en la placa situada en la parte

guarnición de goma.

de que sea indispensable fijar el
extremo del tubo a una altura res-

vivienda se encuentra en uno de
los últimos pisos de un edificio,
es posible que se verifiquen fenó-
menos de sifon, caso en el cual la
lavasecadora carga y descarga
agua de modo continuo.
Para eliminar este inconveniente
se encuentran disponibles en co-
mercio válvulas especiales que
permiten evitar el sifon.
Conexión eléctrica
Antes de conectar la máquina a la
toma eléctrica verificar que:
1) la toma eléctrica esté en con-
diciones de soportar la carga
máxima de potencia de la
máquina, indicada en la placa
de características y que
por las normas legales;
2) la tensión de alimentación esté
comprendida dentro de los va-
lores indicados en la placa de
características;
3) la toma sea compatible con el
enchufe de la máquina. En caso
contrario no utilizar
adaptadores y sustituir la
toma o el enchufe;
4) las instalaciones eléctricas do-
mésticas deben estar
provistas de "toma de tierra".

Mantenerla en forma es importante. También para ti.

Margherita es una lavasecadora

proyectada para durar muchos
años sin problemas. Algunas in-
tervenciones muy simples ayudan
a mantenerla en forma y a pro-
longar su duración. Ante todo
debes cerrar siempre el grifo del
agua después de cada lavado; la
presión continua del agua puede
desgastar algunos componentes.
Además, de esta manera se elimi-
na el peligro de pérdida cuando
no hay nadie en casa. Si el agua
de tu zona es demasiado dura usa
un producto anticalcáreo (el agua
es dura si deja fácilmente trazas
blanquecinas en torno a los gri-
fos o bien en torno a los desagües,
especialmente en la bañera. Para
obtener informaciones más pre-
cisas sobre el tipo de agua de tu
instalación puedes dirigirte al
Suministrador local o bien a un
fontanero de la zona).
Es necesario vaciar siempre los
bolsillos de las prendas, retiran-
do también alfileres, distintivos
y todo objeto duro.
La parte externa de la
lavasecadora debe ser lavada con
un paño embebido en agua tibia
y jabón.
Es importante lavar
periódicamente el
depósito de
detergente.
Para prevenir
incrustaciones basta
ponerlo por un poco
de tiempo bajo el grifo
del agua corriente.
No exagerar nunca las
dosis.
El detergente normal contiene ya
productos anticalcáreos. Sólo si
el agua es particularmente dura,
esto es, muy rica en calcio, te
aconsejamos utilizar un produc-
to específico al efectuar cada
lavado.
Puede ser conveniente efectuar
de vez en cuando un ciclo de la-
vado con una dosis de producto
anticalcáreo, sin detergente y sin
ropa.
No utilizar ningún detergente o
aditivo en dosis excesivas ya que
podrían causar excesiva
producción de espuma, con con-
siguientes incrustaciones y
posibles daños a los
componentes de tu lavasecadora.
Vacía siempre los bolsillos: los objetos pequeños
pueden dañar a tu amiga Margherita.

Efectuar una inspección a la bomba y al tubo de goma cuando haga falta.

Margherita está provista de una bomba autolimpiante que no requiere operaciones de limpieza ni mantenimiento.
Pero puede suceder que pequeños objetos caigan accidentalmente en la bomba: monedas, clips, botones sueltos y
otros objetos. Para evitar daños, estos objetos son detenidos en una pre-cámara accesible, situada en la parte
inferior de la bomba.
Para obtener acceso a esta pre-cámara basta retirar el zócalo
presente en la parte inferior de la lavasecadora utilizando
para ello un destornillador (figura 1); retirar la cubierta
girándola en sentido antihorario (figura 2) e inspeccionar
cuidadosamente el interior.

El tubo de goma
Controla el tubo de goma al menos una vez al año. Debe ser
sustituido de inmediato si presenta grietas o rajas ya que
durante los lavados debe soportar fuertes presiones que

Atención: controla que el ciclo de lavado se haya concluido y desconecta el enchufe antes de retirar la cubierta y
antes de efectuar cualquier operación de mantenimiento. Es normal que al retirar la cubierta se produzca una
pequeña pérdida de agua. Al reinstalar zócalo controla que queden colocados en las respectivas ranuras los ganchos
situados en la parte inferior antes de empujarlo contra la máquina.
