Following were the applications mentioned in this case:

 Enterprise Resource Planning
As this new venture was growing, they needed to integrate data from different business
processes into a single unit. They needed fast communication of information throughout the
organization. When they entered a larger market of Cairo, they felt a need for Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) system.
ERP comes under the category “Enterprise Applications System” or the “System for
Linking the Enterprise”.
 Mashaweer Server:
Mashaweer Server comes under the category of “Transaction Processing System (TPS)”.
Mashaweer Server falls under this category because it is responsible for daily routine
business operations like orders, routes management, asset tracking etc. It also generates
management reports to allow managers to review and monitor the status of daily operations.
 Application Program Interface (API):
API’s help in hiding the complexity and present information and data in easy readable or
intractable form.
API can be put under the category of “Supply Chain Management (SCM) Systems”.
As it can help linking company distribution network with third party distributors or courier
services.
 CISCO
CISCO comes under the category “Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System”.
CISCO fall under this category because it helps in improving the quality of the customer
service.
  SCADA:
SCADA system is used to present an overall image of all the operations and processes going
on in a firm. It serves upper level of management.
So, it can be categorized under “Executive Support System”.
As it uses dashboard and visual feedbacks to present information to upper-level management.
 Logistic Management Solution System:
LMS system can be categorizes under “Supply Chain Management (SCM) System”.
As it helps in sharing information between call center, logistics etc.

Yes it was a good decision to expand the business in Cairo after tremendous success in
Alexandria. In 2011, there are less competitors and investors in the market in Cairo. 2011 is a
best time and great decision to start business in Cairo. They heavily invest in the business to
control the market so other competitors cannot sustain their business in market. Their new
investors are from their family and friends. Heavily invest and high capital investment are
their competitive advantage factors.

Mashaweer used its own company to develop almost all of the information systems needed to
run this new business. This in-house capability to build its systems and required software,
enabled them to reduce the cost of its service and make it more user convenient.

As they already had a strong software company supporting them, it was easy for them to
introduce their service to this new market.

Their information systems also provided them with user feedbacks that their service was
being well appreciated in Alexandria. So, this also motivated them to expand their business
geographically.

Yes, they are accomplish their future strategy and sustain its market share because their
business is online supermarket. They use their own information technology system and call
center and this is competitive advantage for their business. As Mashaweer has invested
largely in building a strong IT infrastructure, it is very easy for them to enter new markets
and accomplish their future strategies.

Due to their already capable distribution network, it is very easy for them to go for
Mashaweer Market in future. Due to their in-house IT development and huge rider force, they
can enter this supermarket business and succeed. Call centers of Mashaweer are also capable
of handling other business too. So like their innov8 startup, these call centers can also serve
other companies and can become a source of revenue.

Mashaweer has lifted the entry barrier too high because of tremendous investment in IT
sector. It is very difficult for any other company to compete Mashaweer in such type of
service. So keeping in mind these factors, one can say that they can sustain their market
share.
