1. Program Guidelines
2. Power Up Program Terms and Conditions
a. Microsoft Certification Exam Voucher Terms and Conditions
3. Code of conduct
By participating in the Power Up Program as a learner or Power Up Champ, you agree to follow:
Acceptance of Terms
These terms and conditions (“T&Cs”) are a legal agreement between you, as the learner or
Power Up Champ (“you” or “your”), to participate in the Microsoft Power Up Program, and
Microsoft (“Microsoft”, “we”, “our” or “us”).
By participating in the Microsoft Power Up Program, you agree to be bound by these T&Cs,
represent that you are 18 years or older, and have permission to participate in the Microsoft
Power Up Program. If you do not accept these T&Cs, then you will not be allowed to participate
in the Program.
Microsoft reserves the right to update these T&Cs at any time without notice to you. The most
current version of the T&Cs can be reviewed by selecting the T&Cs link.
Program Benefits
Your participation in the Program may provide you with access to certain benefits, such as free
access to technical content, a channel to communicate directly with Microsoft team members,
and weekly Program updates (collectively, the “Benefits”).
Some of the Benefits will require you to use your Microsoft account. You may not transfer, sell,
share, sublicense, assign, or lend the Benefits, unless expressly indicated by Microsoft. Your
access to and use of the Benefits are subject to the terms of these T&Cs and any separate
license terms that accompany them or that you are required to accept prior to accessing a
Benefit. You must be an active member of the Power Up Program to access the Benefits.
Throughout the duration of your participation in the Program, you may receive periodic
communications from Microsoft. By participating in the Program, (i) you consent to
communications from Microsoft regarding your participation in the Program; (ii) you agree to
make best efforts to respond promptly to communications from Microsoft that require your
response; and (iii) you consent to Microsoft providing you with additional information about the
Program and other Microsoft products or services. To request a copy or removal of the personal
data that Microsoft has collected as part of your participation in the Program, email
msftpowerupprogram@microsoft.com (requests submitted only apply to data related to the
Program). Removal of personal data could result in your removal from the Program.
Participation in the Program, at times, requires two-way communications. If Microsoft, at its sole
discretion, believes that you are not making best efforts to respond to communications from
Microsoft that require your response, then Microsoft may remove you from the Program.
If you would like to stop receiving communications from Microsoft, you may do so by electing
to leave the Program at any time.
Adhere to Microsoft’s Trademark and Brand guidelines, when using any Microsoft trademarks or
referring to Microsoft’s software, products, or services (see
https://www.microsoft.com/trademarks).
No Solicitation Guidelines
To create an environment that is free from unwanted solicitation, we ask all learners and Power
Up Champs to agree to the following guidelines:
• Refrain from soliciting or marketing their services or products or affiliated third-party
vendors to members of the Power Up Program. This includes, but is not limited to, email,
phone calls, direct mail, social media, online forums, special interest groups, local
meetings, and other events.
• We ask all learners and Power Up Champs to share their deep knowledge of the product
and their thought leadership. Contributions should be free of promotional messages
(including, but not limited to, promotion of Partner products, services, training, and
events), and sales activities are strictly prohibited. This includes messages posted to the
discussion boards and messages sent directly to an individual.
• Learners and Power Up Champs’ contributions should be unbiased and free of any
conflict of interest. As such, please refrain from making comments about affiliates or
competitors’ products, services, or other offerings.
Prohibited Uses
You will not use the Program:
Providing Feedback
If you give feedback about any Microsoft software, products, services, or documentation, you
give to Microsoft, without charge, the right to use, share and commercialize your feedback in
any way and for any purpose. You will not give feedback that is subject to a license that requires
Microsoft to license its software, products, services, or documentation to third parties because
Microsoft includes your feedback in them. These rights survive the T&Cs.
Third-party interactions
As part of the program, at some point you will use the Power Up Program learning management
system (LMS) to access the courses, which is a third-party site, where Microsoft’s terms and
conditions no longer apply. You will then be subject to the third party’s terms and conditions at
https://www.adobe.com/legal/licenses-terms.html.
Code of Conduct
We seek to provide a respectful, friendly, professional experience for everyone, regardless of
their gender, sexual orientation, physical appearance, disability, age, race, or religion. We do not
tolerate any behavior that is degrading to any gender, race, sexual orientation, or disability, nor
do we tolerate any behavior that would be deemed harassment or discrimination. Individuals are
responsible for knowing and abiding by our standards and we encourage everyone to assist in
creating a safe and welcoming environment.
All learners and Power Up Champs should follow these guidelines throughout each interaction,
whether through discussion boards on the Learning Management System or in emails:
Be honorable
• Ensure all work done in the program is done by you and no one else.
• Keep your account access confidential to you alone.
• Participate in the program only on behalf of yourself, not someone else.
Be patient
• Remember that people have varying communication styles and preferences.
• Recognize that not everyone is using their native language. Meaning and tone can be
lost in translation.
Be thoughtful
• Think about how others will interpret your words. Aim for clear and productive
communication.
• Remember that sometimes it is best to refrain from commenting.
Summary
• Treat everyone with respect, kindness, and empathy.
• Use welcoming and inclusive language.
• Be thoughtful in how you communicate in person and online.
• Do not be destructive or inflammatory.
• Gracefully accept constructive criticism.
• Listen with purpose and create space for others’ communication preferences.
• Reach out to the organizers if you need anything.
Reporting
Please report any concerns, suspicious activity, or disruptive behavior to the Power Up Program
team on the Power Up Program learning system discussion boards.
