We met ten years ago in one of those hot Murcia summers. Remember?
It was love at first sight: a magical hunch. We were a team of young
architects ready for new adventures. We immediately felt attracted by
its natural look . How come we never noticed it before? Sooooo sexy,
wavy and ecological. We realized we´d found the perfect match.
A friend to face the issues that concern us as contemporary
designers: sustainability, innovation, circular economy, digital
manufacturing and creative entrepreneurship.
That´s how Cartonlab was born. 10 years later it´s quite weird to
see how it all turned out. Very quickly, but very gently. We now form a
great creative tribe. One that grows, learns, makes lots of mistakes
and enjoys each project. Together we committed ourselves to a
customized, dynamic and context-sensitive approach to design. Our
goal: make this world a little better. We feel very lucky to share with
you this inspiring space we have created.
A place where magic keeps flowing every day. The magic of design,
the magic of the paper in these pages. The same paper that cardboard
is made of. Here is a glimpse of our first years of life. Hope you enjoy

For their booth at CPrint Madrid trade show we built

Nidokraft an elegant cave using only their material.

An inspiring world of sinuous geometry that invites to

showroom
disconnect for a few seconds from the noise, hustle
and bustle of the event.

A space fill up with the good vibrations that only a

The World Bulk Wine Exhibition (WBWE) takes place
yearly in Amsterdam, and is one of the largest wine
events in the world.

Experience For several editions, we have worked closely toghether

with the organizers to design the architecture of the
event.

A forest of giant apple trees made of cardboard is

the challenge that the Pink Lady brand proposed to
us for its stand at the most important agricultural fair
in France.

The result is a huge structure made of more than

500 different pieces of honeycomb cardboard
assembled together.

The lighting in pink and the different communication

elements of the brand create the perfect scenario to
connect the brand with the visitors.

This project, designed by architect Carlos
Jimenez Cenamor (Delamorylabelleza) takes
the structural design in cardboard to the limits
with a giant extendable lamp that reacts to the
sounds and movements of visitors.

The operation is controlled by position and

acoustic sensors that send the appropriate
stimulus to the engines.

The aim of the this project is to enable users of

public space to use, build and control the highly
digitalised environment they will enjoy in the
near future, regardless of their experience in the

Cuando Ya no Esté is the new TV program conducted
by the renowed journalist Iñaki Gabilondo.

This project is pioneer in the use of videomapping

applications in TV.

Six video-projectors provide an inmersive visual

experience using the cardboard elements as a poligonal
background.

The design concept is based on futuristic and

sustainable values and produced to be reusable. Once
the recording is finished, the set is disassembled and
stored, ready for re-using.

annual global meeting that took place in a hotel in

Animal Studio, the architecture office led by Javier
Jimenez, created this concept store following a strict
triangular modulation. This pattern gets the perfect
integration between conceptual idea, space, furniture
and brand graphic communication.

We used more than 1000kg of cardboard in the

production process.

The assembly of all the elements took only a few hours,

as all the designs were modular and pre-fabricated in our
workshop.
