Armand Deu – Blog Journal update #1

Throughout the past 2-3 weeks working on my capstone has been a solid performance.
Within these weeks I've started to film and edit 2 TikTok videos without uploading them
yet. I’ve filmed how to change a tire when you have a flat, and I’ve also filmed how to
diagnose and change your battery. As I make this progress filming, I'm also halfway into
editing these videos on premiere pro and I hope to accomplish this at the end of the week
and to start working on the other videos throughout this and the next few weeks. Some
obstacles I’ve encountered would be that in my auto class, the lifts are always being taken
so its near impossible to work on videos that require me to go under the car, I'm resolving
this issue by doing these videos at home because I have all the tools and jacks/jack stands
required for the job at hand. Through these videos I’ve applied many key skills, reflecting on
these skills specifically speaking to the core competencies I’ve used majorly communication
as I need to critically think on what my audience looks like and how I can differ my dialogue
on how people that know nothing about the topic of cars will be able to comprehend and
be able to perform these actions on their vehicles. Another core skill I've applied
throughout these few videos would be critical thinking because I needed and will still need
to critically think how I can show how to do these fixes correctly with explaining the
cautions of doing things yourself opposed to going to a mechanic, as well as thinking of
safety precautions to incorporate to the videos. Lastly to fulfill my needs for the next
videos, I will be needing to get oil and an oil filter so I can perform an oil change for one of
the next videos. That’s it for my blog update #1.
