What is Weight?

Weight is the force which acts on an object due to gravity.

Greater the force of gravity, greater will be the weight or vice versa.

Unit of Weight

Since weight is a force, therefore the unit of weight is also Newtons

(N). Sometimes force is also measured in pounds (lb).

What is Mass?

Mass is the amount of quantity of matter (stuff) in an object.

Unit of Mass

The unit of mass is kilograms (kg).

Differences Between Mass and Weight

The mass of an object remains the same on every planet.

But since weight depends on force of gravity, therefore weight of an
object is different on different planets.
