EMPATHISE IDEATE PROTOTYPE USER TEST RE-ITERATE
GENERATE NEW CONCEPTS BE CURIOUS
SUSPEND JUDGEMENTS BE OPEN TO FEEDBACK
WHY ARE YOU HERE You've arrived to a design thinking workshop, you will
learn and experience several methods of ideation.
How to get through a mental block and allow ideas
flow freely
WHAT CAN YOU Expect a new way of thinking, new ways to interact
EXPECT with like-minded people, and a brand new tool to
help you run design sprints.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
How can we ensure delivery executive safety in this rat race of rapid food
delivery.
OR
How can we create a seamless experience for students/bachelors to find
houses in metropolitan cities.
OR
How can we conserve the dying lakes(kere) of Bangalore to preserve the
natural balance of the city.
FOLD YOUR PAPER THRICE
● Grip size and shape should fit comfortably in the user's hand
● Texture should provide a secure grip
● Grip position should allow for proper pressure on the blade without putting excessive strain on the wrist or hand
● Sharpener should be balanced to ensure stability and easy control during use
● Too heavy or unbalanced sharpener can cause strain on the user's wrist and arm

Redesign of razer viper ultimate mouse
Material used:
The upper body of the mouse: The upper of the mouse will be made from
acrylonitrile butadiene styrene(ABS) plastic. The plastic offers good chemical
resistance, aging resistance, hardness, gloss, and rigidity. Butadiene provides
elasticity at low temperatures, flexibility, and good melt strength. The styrene gives
good processability, gloss, and hardness.
The scroll wheel: The scroll wheel will also be made from acrylonitrile butadiene
styrene(ABS) plastic.
Sensor light: Will use an infrared LED light to illuminate the surface.

In this phase the students should conduct primary and secondary research. where they ask
people of different age groups and backgrounds about what they look for when they are buying
a pair of shoes, how is it different for different occasions, what their favorite pair of shoes
etc.The entire research needs to be made with images, texts and videos wherever necessary.
This phase will end with a defined design intent written in 2-3 lines for the project.

drawings and texts
Problem statement:
How can we make shoes using biomimicry that works best for adventures?
Interview:
Zubin: Age 19
2. What brands of shoes are you going to buy for city life and for adventures?
Trek: North face, Timberland, Decathlon(quechua)
City: Converse, Nike, Adidas, Birkenstock shoes, crocs
3. What are your favorite pair of shoes? And why do you like them?
Nike low dunk: the shoes are customizable, low key, comfortable, simple looking yet
polished.
5. What is that one thing according to you the shoes don't have and it should start adding
it?
Roller wheels, because they are fun and easily navigation

2. What brands of shoes are you going to buy for city life and for adventures?
For adventure purposes, I would go for Wildcraft, North face, and Gore tex.
For adventure purposes, I would go for Vans, Nike, Asics, New balance.
3. What are your favorite pair of shoes? And why do you like them?
My favorite pair of shoes are Nike. I like Nike because it gives a great performance, it is
durable and it's aesthetically pleasing.
5. What is that one thing according to you the shoes don't have and it should start adding
it?
A shoe should be built in such a way that we can detach the component of the shoes so
that we can use it for the long run.

For adventure and city purposes I would go for Adidas.
3. What are your favorite pair of shoes? And why do you like them?
Adidas: goes with everything,
5. What is that one thing according to you the shoes don't have and it should start adding

This is the ideation phase where the students start designing various forms for the product. The
ideation process can begin with sketching, then move to digital 3D models and some quick
prototype
Problem statement:
How can we make shoes using biomimicry that works best for adventures?
Product Overview:
I used biomimicry in the design of my shoe. The shoe has an adventurous style that individuals
can wear for trekking and other activities. In a video I saw, a jumping kangaroo lands on the
ground using his tail. Thus, all of the shock that is caused while jumping comes to the
kangaroo's tail and does not harm it. I tried to construct the sole of the shoe with the kangaroo
in mind so that the wearer wouldn't experience any shock when hopping while wearing them.
Either all of the shocks from the jump should be gone or the shock should be lessened. In order
to create a suspension, I created a mountainous structure inside the sole that I built. Therefore,
even if someone jumps, the shock they will experience will be lessened.
The next thing I did was read about biomimicry and the way lotus leaves self-clean despite
growing in murky water. Lotus leaves mostly consist of cellulose, but they also contain a natural
wax that aids in water resistance. So I reasoned that since our shoes become dirty or wet when
we go on adventures, I can use the same strategy on the shoe so it can clean itself with some
water. As a result, I created a thin outer covering for the shoe's top that will be water-repellent.
This way, even after jogging, if water spills and the shoe gets dirty, you may clean it without
worrying that it will get wet. A thin nylon layer that serves as a water-repellent will be present.
Following that, I was motivated by a lizard's capacity to regenerate by cutting off its tail and
growing a new one. So I considered the idea that people would have to throw away the entire
pair of shoes if the sole or upper body were torn. I, therefore, made the shoes detachable from
the sole when I was designing them. People can customize their shoes however they choose;
they can change or replace the sole to make them look elegant or remove the sole to make them
suitable for casual usage.
The most significant advantage is that even if the leather on the sole or the shoe is torn, you can
still replace it for only half as much.
I prefer shoes number 9, so this would be my dimension. I will be making the shoes with the
following dimensions.
Material used:
Sole: polyvinyl chloride
Body: nylon
Laces: cloth fabric
This is the final stage where the entire project concludes with a product brochure, a final 3D rendered
design, and a scaled-down prototype of the same(preferably made out of clay). The project should
be backed up with proper reasoning and data from the research. The student should write an
individual piece about the project as well.
submission Guidelines: the final project deliverable is a set. which includes a product brochure, a set
of 3d renders of the product, and finally a scaled-down tangible prototype of the product with details
about the material, weight, color, functionality, etc.
