1 Ensure that all safety regulations are perfectly complied.
Ensure that the craft are wearing safety gears specially isolated gloves for (230 VAC

inst) & isolated safety shoe.
Obtain and fulfill the necessary work permits (HOT), and inform the operator before
3 starting the job.
The instrument tools shall be IS classified & isolated to prevent electric chock
4
(powered inst 230 VAC)
5 Consider continuous gas leak test around the area.
Confirm using P&ID / Logic diagram whether instrument is shut down item or not. If it
6 is shutdown item, proceed the procedure for override switch under acceptance from
operation and Instrument Maintenance Supervisor.
Arrange with the operation group through the Instrument Maintenance Supervisor

that you can perform this procedure with no disturbance of the operation.

Notify the concerned department of the valve to be taken. Also ensure

that the main equipment has been gone thru shutdown procedure.
Verify details of the loop sketch. Any documentation discrepancies are
2 to be investigated and corrected by the owning department and the loop
drawings updated with the corrections.
Record the AS-found valve status (open / close) on the attached check
3 data sheet. Perform a visual inspection of the device’s wiring,
connections, any sign of Heat/Burn spot, etc..., record accordingly.

Check both of the electrical power supply (24 VDC) & the

air supply (7 bars).
5 Isolate and block the unit from process, then disassemble it.
Perform the pressure leakage test, by taking the unit to the work shop,
then applying the maximum allowable pressure (as per name plate
6
data), the absence of leaks shall be indicated by ZERO fall in pressure
over a period of #2 minutes. If not O.K., replace the unit by another one.
Perform the coil test, by electrically isolating the coil and apply a proper
7 ohmmeter to get a proper value i.e. reading should not be open- nor
short- circuit. If not O.K., replace the coil by another one.
