I. MATCHING TYPE. Match each question type with one attribute, write only the letter:
____1. Is defined as the intensity of light per unit area. a. Lamp Efficiency
____2. Is the production of light by means of electricity b. Candle Power
and its applications to provide efficient, comfortable and safe vision. c. Illumination
____3. Is the difference in brightness or the brightness d. Contrast
ratio between an object and its background. e. Electric Illumination
____4. Is the degree to which light is shadowless and f. Glare
is therefore a function of the number of directions g. Luminous Flux
to which light collides with a particular point and comparative intensities. h. Diffuseness
____5. Is the light that seems to radiate from an object being viewed i. Light
and is the luminous flux emitted, transmitted, or reflected from a surface. j. Brightness
____6. Is a strong, steady, dazzling light or reflection k. Lux
____7. It is defined as the visible radiations emitted by it in lumens per watt. l. Lumen
____8. That part of radiant energy from a hot body
which produced the visual sensation human eye.
____9. The total quantity of radiant energy per second responsible
for visual sensation from a luminous body.
____10. Is defined as the illumination produced by a uniform source
of one CP on the inner surface of a sphere of radius one meter.

II. IDENTIFICATION. Short answer, write your answer in the blank space:

1. Is an essential factor in determining a good conductor

2. Is due to the friction between the flow of current and the conductor or insulator
3. Are the materials that carries or allows the flow of electric current
4. Are those materials that resist the flow of electric current
5. Consist of a group of wires twisted to form a metallic string
6. Is the term given to an insulated stranded wire
7. Are those which are larger than the wires
8. Is a factory assembled two or more insulated conductors in an extruded core of moisture resistant
9. Are wiring accessories or channels designed for holding wires, cables or busbars
10. Are the most common electrical raceway
11. Is a form of general use switch usually installed in flush device boxes or an outlet box cover
12. Is a switch intended for isolating an electric circuit from the source of power
13. Are contact devices installed at the outlet for the connection of a single attachment plug
14. Are devices which serves to open or close the circuitry in an electric circuit
15. Is a box with a blank cover which serves the purpose of joining different runs of raceways or cables

V. PROBLEM SOLVING. (20 points each)

1. A 40 watt by 120 cm fluorescent lamp produces 3,200 lumens of light in a room having a general
dimension of 10 x 20 ft. Find the illumination on the floor (footcandle).
2. A warehouse is installed with pendant dome incandescent lamps at a mounting height ratio of 1.50
meters. The lamp is installed on a grid of 5.00 m. x 5.00 m. What is the minimum mounting height (MH)?

Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.
