academic dishonesty;
2. Plagiarism (unauthorized use of another’s words or ideas as one’s own), which includes but
is not limited to submitting exams, theses, reports, drawings, laboratory notes or other
materials as one’s own work when such work has been prepared by or copied from another
person;
3. Unauthorized possession of exams or reserved library materials; destroying or hiding
source, library or laboratory materials or experiments or any other similar actions;
4. Unauthorized changing of grades, or marking on an exam or in an instructor’s grade book or

suspected of such computer hacking if a police report of the suspected hacking was
submitted prior to the search; and

A student who has committed an act of academic dishonesty has failed to meet a basic requirement of
satisfactory academic performance. Thus, academic dishonesty is not only a basis for disciplinary
action but may also affect the evaluation of a student’s level of performance. Any student who commits
an act of academic dishonesty is subject to disciplinary action.

In instances where a student has clearly been identified as having committed an act of academic
dishonesty, an instructor may take appropriate disciplinary action, including a loss of credit for an
assignment, exam or project; or awarding a grade of “Fail” for the course, subject to review and
endorsement by the chairperson and dean.

ACCEPTANCE OF CONTENTS OF COURSE SYLLABUS

I acknowledge that I have reviewed the contents in this course syllabus for (UH3: Anglais /
Développement personnel et professional).

I attest that I understand each of the following:

1. I understand that three (3) or more missed assignments will result in my final course grade
being lowered.
2. I understand that Excused absences should be communicated to the instructor either
through a formal letter or via e-mail. The date and reason for absence should be clearly
stated in the letter and signed by the student.
3. I understand that I take responsibility for submitting my own original work and writing.
When I use the writings and ideas of others I will provide proper documentation. This is
academic honesty. If I either voluntarily or unknowingly fail to properly attribute credit to
or adequately document external sources when I use the writings or ideas of others, then
I am being scholastically dishonest. Should this occur I understand that I will receive
appropriate penalties. (For example: cheating on an assignment, plagiarizing, failing to
include clear and appropriate attribution of sources) will receive a grade of zero (“0”). It
is possible, depending upon the circumstances, that a student who is academically
dishonest may receive a (“Failling”) for a final course grade.
4. I understand that major writing assignments must be properly and promptly submitted in
an 8½” X 11" paper.
5. I understand that all homework must be typed, and no late homework will be accepted
(except under extenuating circumstances)
6. I understand that the instructor reserves the right to adjust the grades, upward only based
on individual class participation if numerical grade warrants such consideration.
7. I understand that without previous permission, a student will be considered late 10
minutes after the class’ scheduled time
8. I understand that this class will help me to develop myself professionally personally and
also improve my English level.
