Graduated with a master in transportation design management,

I’m a young industrial designer looking for new experiences and
encounters. I capture hundreds of ideas, shake, share and turn
them into opportunities. Then I make doodles, more sketches,
select the best concepts and make projects happen with the
help of others.

serenity, balance and quality.
I got inspirations from minimalistic archi-

I recreated the pattern of the leaf to give a
relaxed atmosphere to the shoes. The ma-

aking a shoe around this
project was a very fun expe-
rience as we were inspired
by sneakers when we designed this
vehicle. Like the several elements
composing the car, the different
layers of the sneaker must age well
and be easy to clean. It offers a great
protection against severe weather.
Thus it’s a sneaker for an everyday
usage offering a great comfort and
protection.

«Fashion represent one of the most fertile grounds for an interdisciplinary

critical design thinking.»

COME AS YOU ARE.

How can we reimagine the way we interact with humans,

technology and our surroundings through our garments?

The clothes we choose represent our way of life. New technologies and
new ways of thinking have and will have a strong impact on the trends.
Moreover, fashion companies are making a strong use of the social
network and user data to sell products online to targeted customers.
It becomes more and more difficult to predict the future trends and the
influence of the fashion industry on the young generations.
Technology is a tool to observe and bring about virtuous changes in the
fashion industry. What could be the future applications of smart garments?

>The world has known strong changes sinces the advent of new technologies and the evolution of
internet and networking. Young generations of people are willing to use these innovations to develop
and express their own «way of life».

>By using the new technologies and utulising their environement, they are shaping the future and
defining the new codes of our society. While some say that this generation may be the most complex
ever, but what about the next one?

A new Interface

>I imagine the smart garment as your everyday companion, it analyses your body and your emotions.
It can not only communicate with your differents devices/clothes but also with your surroundings.

Experimentations

>I experiment different combinations by mixing neutral garments with pattern that can be hidden or
not. Technology allows us to create evolutive style according to our mood.

HUGO TWARDOWSKI | 25
PR 07 | CAYA | Thesis project

Transparency

>During my research I found out people were more likely to hide their feelings to others when they
were insecure or reserved. Clothes can reveal their lifestyle to others people and if necessary, hide their
feelings.

Mixing styles

>Possibilities are endless if we consider that each of our items can be mix with one other. Before going
out smart garments will analyses data to offer the best experience. It will help you express yourself and
creates unique interactions with others.

>The «Breathing flower» is a perfect exemple of a smart garments. The first shell indicates to the
second shell that you are stressed or feel opressed(with heartbeat, body’s temperature, skin’s humi-
dity...), so the second shell will open to give you space around you and let you breathe in a crowded
environement.

>New systems allows a lot of new idea. The smart garment can creates links everywhere for every
usage : connecting with people and the environement, sharing and improving performances... In short,
smart garments can change our everyday routine by being more «alive».
