1 The device is good for everyone who listens to music outdoors.

2 I got it as a (school) graduation gift.

3 Although the speaker is small and light, the sound is high-quality.

4 Unfortunately, the speaker is rather expensive.

Hi! Bart the Gadgeteer again! 😊😊 Did you read my previous post about the Sharkey waterproof speaker? I’d
wanted my parents to buy me one for months. [2] And here’s what I think about it.

It’s a Bluetooth speaker which you can connect to your smartphone. That means it’s a device which you can
carry with you everywhere. [3] When you charge the battery to the full, it runs for three days. [1] It’s also
very important for me that the speaker is waterproof, so I can use it by the pool. [4]

Do I recommend it? Sure!

Talk to you soon!

Exercise 2

Who is he?

The identity of Banksy remains unknown. He was probably born in Bristol, England, around 1964 1974. He
became famous for his controversial and political street art created in the late 1980s 1990s. Since then,
there have been a lot of speculations about Banksy’s identity, but he has managed to keep it a secret –
often in a very polite way provocative style. When in 2010 The Independent Time magazine put him on
the list of 100 most influential people in the world, Banksy sent the newspaper his photo… with a band on
his eyes paper bag on his head.

Artwork

Banksy began his career as a graffiti artist in the early 1990s in London's Bristol’s graffiti gang DryBreadZ
Crew. His early works were largely freehand, but later he started using stencils, which is how his most
famous pieces were made. His signature style is characterized by powerful images, often eco-friendly
political and combined with slogans. His work often criticises war, capitalism, hypocrisy and greed, which
makes Banksy not only an artist, but also a politician political activist.
