1 - DESCRIPTION

PROMUTASE™ 200 is a freeze dried melon juice naturally rich in antioxidant

actives, including superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase.
It is composed by a freeze dried melon juice, a dried and crushed co-product of
ground corn germ, calcium carbonate, triglycerides of saturated fatty acids (C14 to
C20).

4 - FREE RADICAL AND ANTIOXIDANTS

Free radicals are very reactive compounds on organic constituents and cellular
structures. They are formed during the energetic metabolism for a good working of
the body. But an excess of free radicals may be harmful.
This excess appears when animals are under stress situations as nutritional,
physical, emotional or infectious stresses. Then, these situations may have some
consequences on animal reproduction and growth, efficacy of food transformation
or quality of carcass and meat.

In the body radical scavenger compounds and enzymatic systems permit to control
free radical multiplication
To limit free radical multiplication, the body posses a defence system through free
radical scavenger compounds or enzymatic systems.
Free radical scavengers are certain type of proteins, carotenoids, polyphenols,
flavonoids, vitamins A & C which are brought by the food.
Enzymatic systems act through a cascade mechanism. These enzymes are
superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase. Under stressful conditions, these
enzymatic systems are weakened by shocks and free radical influx.

The disequilibrium between free radicals and enzymes are responsible for oxidative
stress. To recover this equilibrium, it is necessary to bring enzymes to the body.

5 - TOXICITY AND RESIDUE IN MEAT

PROMUTASE™ 200 only contains non toxic food matters. It does not present
residues for milk and meat.

PROMUTASE™ 200 permits to reduce the oxidative risk during

• chronic inflammations (arthritis, tendonitis, milk cells, nidation, …)

breeding starting period (chick and fish stock, nurseries, …)
transition period (dropping, laying, weaning, pond change, transport, …)
vaccination
intensive feeding (effective productions, …)
• prolonged and intensive efforts (running, work, endurance, walking, …)
• ageing

8 - USES

PROMUTASE™ 200 is suggested to be used for

Dairy cow 50 mg/animal/day

Pork minimum 20 to 60 g/T of feed, depending of the period
(weaning, adult…)
Horses minimum 50 mg/animal/day

Its coated form on a food carrier and its good free flowing feature permit
PROMUTASE™ 200 to be well dispersed in animal feed powders and used with or
without a granulation of the feed.
