In a vast wilderness, live a variety

of animals. One of them is a deer.

This hare is known to have
extraordinary ingenuity. Not only
clever, mouse deer are also known
as animals that are friendly to
each other.

Like one morning, he saw a

mother duck swimming with her
baby. The mouse deer, who was
walking through the forest,
greeted the duck, "Hey duck!
You'll have fun swimming."
Likewise with the other animals
that along the way he kept
greeting and saying hello. That is a
deer with a friendliness that is
always respected by many
animals in the forest
Not only friendly, the mouse deer, which is known for
its ingenuity, also often helps forest animals in
solving problems. Many animals come to the mouse
deer if they have problems, even the mouse deer are
happy to help and solve the problems of their friends.
Like once, while walking through the forest he found
three chicks trapped in a hole that was deep enough
for them.

The mouse deer immediately approached the chick

and went down into the hole to help those who were
trapped. After going inside, the mouse deer bent his
body and asked the chick to climb on his body.
"Come on! You can climb into my body, so you can get
out of this and meet your mother." Said the friendly
mouse deer.

After all the chicks managed to get on his body, the

mouse deer jumped out of the hole and walked to
meet the mother hen who was looking for her chicks.
He released the three chicks to their mother.
The mother was very happy and grateful to the
mouse deer who had helped their child. Not only the
hen, the three chickens also cheered in unison to
thank the mouse deer, "Thank you sir mouse deer!"
said the three chicks happily
After walking around, the mouse deer began to
feel hungry. He pulled over to eat the grass
around him. After eating the grass, the mouse
deer said, "The grass alone doesn't make me
full."

Kancil then continued walking in the hot sun

until he arrived at a river in the forest. He
approached the bank of the river just to quench
his thirst after walking around and eating
earlier.

After drinking enough, the mouse deer who

was looking at the river immediately lit up
when he saw something interesting on the
other side of the river. The thing that attracted
him was the fruit tree which could relieve his
hunger.

However, the fast river water did not allow the

mouse deer to cross the river. He also looked
for a way to cross without danger. Until he got
an idea, namely by tricking the crocodiles in the
river.
A crocodile came out to the river bank and approached the
deer who looked happy, "Hey Kancil! What are you doing at
the river? Do you want to be our meal?” the crocodile asked
the deer.

The mouse deer answered the crocodile's question happily, "I

have good news for all of you, I brought fresh meat from the
king and was ordered to count the number of crocodiles in
the river. You just line up in the river and I'll count you later."

Feeling happy to hear the news that the mouse deer brought
fresh meat for him and his other crocodile friends, the
crocodile then agreed to the mouse deer's request and called
all the crocodiles in the river to line up to form a bridge.

"Ready!" said all the crocodiles excitedly. Kancil happily

jumped over the crocodiles and pretended to count the
crocodiles that were lined up to form the bridge.
After reaching the end, the mouse deer jumped to the river
bank. Then he said, "Thank you crocodiles, thanks to you, I
can cross this river."

After saying that to the crocodile, the deer immediately ran

fast, leaving the crocodile who was angry because of his
actions. Kancil freely ate fruit across the river to relieve his
hunger.
The moral message that can be obtained from
the tale of the mouse deer and the crocodile is
that the mouse deer tricked the crocodile so he
could cross the river and get what he wanted.
That then made the crocodile very angry with
the mouse deer.

This can be a lesson that all bad deeds will only

increase enemies.

So it's better to use intelligence only for good

things so that more people respect it
