1. The problem of practice that I identified for my study is the positive benefits of home
economics courses for students in high school and our wider society. Far too often
home economics is thought of as only a cooking class, but it's about so much
including budgeting, home management/design, sewing, child development, and
health/hygiene.

. SOP - The problem stems from, both the misconception that home
economics curriculum is intended for female learners only and budget cuts. The problem impacts
everybody in schools from students and teachers to administrators and society as a whole.
However, I'll focus my research on specifically senior highschool students. My research question
asks what are the benefits to students and society when home economics curriculum is
implemented in high school education?

Survey Questionnaires:

1. Home Economics equips one with skills for making clothing

2. Home Economics provides skills for child care

3. Home Economics provides skills for discussion on social problems

4. Home Economics provides skills for food preparation

5. Home Economics helps in selection of clothing

6. Home economics provides skills event planning

7. Home Economics provides skills for venue and interior decoration
