*Prayer of Confession
God our teacher, we often exalt ourselves while evaluating and judging
others. We assume too much and don’t invest enough in listening, learning,
and seeking to understand. You call us to humility, yet we resist, puffing
ourselves up with prideful arrogance and rigid certainty. Forgive us, soften
our hearts and open our minds to all we have yet to learn. Amen.

*Words of Grace and Mercy
From generation to generation, God’s love overcomes human sinfulness. God is
committed to fresh starts and new creations. This is good news!
In Jesus Christ we are forgiven!
*Prayer Response
(Hymn 327, stanza 3)
Eternal are thy mercies, Lord; eternal truth attends thy word:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Thy praise shall sound from shore to shore,
till suns shall rise and set no more.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
*Greeting of Peace
Announcements
Come, come, ye Saints, no toil nor labor fear; but with joy wend your way.
Though hard to you this journey may appear, grace shall be as your day. 'Tis
better far for us to strive our useless cares from us to drive; do this, and joy
your hearts will swell all is well! Why should we mourn or think our lot is
hard? 'Tis not so; all is right. Why should we think to earn a great reward if
we now shun the fight? Gird up your loins fresh courage take. Our God will
never us forsake; and soon we'll have this tale to tell all is well! We'll find the
place which God for us prepared, place of peace, place of rest, where none
shall come to hurt or make afraid; there the just will be blessed. We'll make the
air with music ring, shout praises to our God and King; above the rest these
words we'll tell all is well! And should we die before our journey's through,
happy day! All is well! We then are free from toil and sorrow, too; with the just
we shall dwell! But if our lives are spared again to see the Saints their rest
obtain, oh, how we'll make this chorus swell all is well! Happy day! All is well!

*Doxology
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Christ, all people here below;
Praise Holy Spirit evermore;
One God, Triune whom we adore. Amen.
*Prayer of Dedication
God, you call us to Christ’s mission and ministry. Bless these gifts that they
might spread the hope of your good news, feed the hungry, shelter the poor,
comfort the suffering, and free the captives. Bless us, also, so that our lives
conform to radical love and faithful humility. Amen.
Invitation …. Jesus Christ, who has sat at our tables, now invites us to be guests at
his.
Congregational Prayer
O God, how wonderful is the work of your hands! Through your son, Jesus,
you came to us and entered this world, that we might more fully know you and
your love. Jesus healed the sick, though he himself would suffer; he offered
life to sinners, though death would hunt him down. But with a love stronger
than death, he rose on Easter morning to give the gift of life to all who call on
his holy name. Bless his holy name and bless these gifts which we are about
to receive.
Words of Institution …This is my body, broken for you…This is my blood, shed for
you…
Congregational Response
