I have chosen to write about the painting named “sunflowers” painted in

1887 by Vincent van Gogh. This painting was painted just before he
checked himself into the metal asylum and is heavily influenced by
yellow. Vincent van Gogh was so addicted to yellow he would even eat
it to calm his nerves. While there are no characters in this painting, I
believe the painting represents Vincent van Gough, from the yellow
background, flowers, and blue accents each one is a part of him. The
background represents who he wants to be, the color yellow reparents
happiness, at this time he had cut off his ear and wanted to struggle. The
sunflowers represent what he shows the world he is, they are still yellow
so give off the illusion that he is happy. Flowers are given to people
when they are perfect and beautiful but here, but they are starting to
welt. The welting flowers dedicates that he is starting to loss hold of the
beautiful and perfect life people tend to show the world. Lastly the blue
accents, these represent what he is acting feeling inside, blue often
represents sadness and a low mood. He made it the smallest people he
wanted to hide it from everyone therefore he surrounded it on yellow.
This shows that Vincent van Gogh was very broken-hearted but did not
know how to show it therefore he is trying to hide it from everyone. I
think he was broken hearted because al thought his life he was
struggling with depression with thoughts of suicide. Vincent is a
participant in this painting as it is a symbol of his life. The vase is
cracking, and the table is slanting which can show that he is trying so
hard to keep up the act that he is living the perfect life but slowing it is
cracking at the seams as the truth comes out. Therefore, Vincent van
Gogh was struggling a lot mentally and this painting is his cry for help,
