Cristina with an imaginary ball inside which the person that throws it hides a
surprise: an air hug, a hello, an air high five. the child who gets it has to `catch` it
and open it and the person who throws it has to say what the surprise is.

Method: talk about the virus - ask children what they know about the virus/ what it means
Key questions:
● Should we read the story and see what we could say to Dave the dog? He does not know exactly
what to do and he feels a bit anxious and scared.
● Do you have any ideas how we can and Dave stay safe and keep others safe as well?

Method: ask each child if they can say which is the first letter of their name. Encourage the children to
pronounce their name and think about the first sound. The teacher can try to change the first sound and
assess whether the children can make the difference between the sound the teacher says and the actual
first sound of their name.
Key questions: 1. Can you tell me your name?
2. (to a child whose name is Susan) - Ok, Musan, so what is the first sound in your name? (wait for the
children to notice the difference between the real name and the made up name)
3. if M is not the first sound then what is it?

11:00 - 11:20 CRAFT: Decorate the initial of their name (works to be displayed)

GAME: ‘Teddy bear is lost in the jungle’ – one child is taken aside while a teddy bear is hidden
somewhere in the classroom
- The other children guide the rescuer to the teddy by singing louder as the rescuer

GAME: Ice cream counting –
Organization: indoor, individual activity
Method: 1. Previous to the activity prepare an apron and a cook`s hat for the children to use during
the activity. Tell the children that you want to make ice-cream for some friends that are coming
over, but there are so many decorations that you will need help to put all of them on the ice-creams.
Can they help?
2 Encourage the children to recognize the number written on the ice cream cone, write it in sand
and then, using the tweezers, pick up the same number of `sprinkles` to put on their ice-cream.
Key questions: 1. Can you tell me the number on this ice-cream cone?
2.Can you write the number in ice-cream sand?
3. Do you have any idea about how many sprinkles you have to put on your ice-cream?
4. Can you use the tweezer to decorate the ice-cream?
Key vocabulary: number, write, how many, tweezers, decorations, apron
Materials: apron, cook`s hat, ice-cream paper cones with numbers 1-10 PRINT, LAMINATE & CUT,
tweezers, pompons, tray of sand
