Class 4 - Fall 2022

Step 1:
With your group invent the language that a cricket would use for the following words. It
is very important that you do not tell classmates outside of your group what your
language means yet. I have put the verbs in the infinitive form, but you can decide how
you will conjugate your verbs in your new language.

1. Hello
2. To be
3. To like
4. I
5. You
6. No/Not
7. One noun of your choice
Step 2:
With your group discuss a plan of how you can (1) teach your classmates the meaning of
these words with as little translation as possible, and (2) have your classmates practice
using the new cricket language in conversation.

Step 3: It´s time to see if your plan works.

Step 4: Let´s analyze what we learned from each group´s performance
