I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
a) analyze the poem entitled “A Psalm of Life “thoroughly
b) appreciate and value the importance of life; and
c) make a reflection paper about the poem entitled” A Psalm of Life”.
1. Motivation:
The teacher will show jumbled words and the students will try to
arrange it correctly.

2. Lesson Proper/Discussion:
The teacher will present the topic through PowerPoint Presentation and
will proceed with the discussion about the poem.

A Psalm of Life: This poem is known for its optimism and the theme-
right attitude of life. The poet gives out the message that pleasure or sorrow is
not the goal of life. The purpose of life is to carry out all duties and
responsibilities for the progress and good of all. We should realize life is
shorter and quicker.
“A Psalm of Life” adopts the form of a stanza with four lines rhyming “abab,
cdcd, efef, for example, in odd lines: numbers/slumbers, fleeting/beating,
pleasant/present; in even lines: dream/seem, goal/soul, fate/wait.

Essay: In a 1 whole sheet of paper, Use the poem's message as your guide in creating
a message of your future self, inquire as to how you are doing good, or inquire as to if
you have discovered your life's meaning.
V. Assignment:
In a 1 whole sheet of paper, search and write the types,
definitions, and uses of a punctuation mark.
