Very Dangerous—High Heat Index

This 2023, we have experienced the highest heat index this summer. The heat index jumps 48 degrees
Celsius in the month of April this year, we are suffering from a very hot temperature every day. It is hard
to survive each day if we are experiencing this kind of feeling every day while doing outdoor activities or
even indoor activities since the heat index is very dangerous for us.

Furthermore, base on Phillipine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration

(PAGASA) the highest heat index today, May 30, 2023 was 45 degrees Celsius at Juban, Sorsogon. This
was published at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon, and the lowest heat index was 28 degrees Celsius at
Basco (Radar), Batanes and published at 8:00 o’clock in the morning. It‘s been a long hot day to keep
doing work even it is hard to move because we can get sweaty easily.

As we have discussed a while ago, it is hard to survive each day if we are experiencing a very hot
temperature in our are, that’s why we should take good care of ourselves even we are outside or inside
of our shelter because it is very cruel to experience bad things from the high heat index. Drinking 8-12
glasses of water every day would be a big help on our body to stay hydrated and bringing umbrella with
us or using sunscreen when going outside is a good thing to do to prevent getting our skin too exposed
on sunlight.

Lastly, it is now the end of Summer Era, but we are not yet sure if it will be the end of the very hot
feeling that we are undergoing. However, just like what we have mentioned a while ago, taking care of
ourselves is the best thing we can do to protect ourselves in this very high heat index everyday. No
matter what the heat index will be, remain yourself cool in the hot weather!
