Golden Gate: Tourist attraction

The Golden Gate is a very
popular tourist attraction and you
can cross it on foot, by bike or by
car. It also has beautiful views of
the San Francisco Bay and is a
popular photo spot. Its distinctive
red color is due to the special
paint used to protect it from
corrosion. Picture by: https://www.goldengate.org/bridge/photo-gallery/golden-gate-bridge-contemporary-

The purpose of the Brigde

The Golden Gate was built to
connect the city of San Francisco
with Marin County because
before its construction, the only
means of transportation was
ferry, which was not enough to
meet the needs of the area's
growing population and
economy. Picture by: https://www.goldengate.org/bridge/photo-gallery/golden-gate-bridge-contemporary-
