1. General information on ANYSCAN 720

1.1 Introduction
Urine test strips simplify laboratory diagnosis through ease of use, high sensitivity and specificity.
These benefits allow you to identify pathological changes in the urine quick and reliably. The addition
of the Urine Analyzer to the urinalysis process allows for standardization and efficiency of urine test
by eliminating potential sources of error associate with the visual reading of test strips, such as
improper lighting at the workplace, or different color discrimination by the user or different timing
when the values are read.

ANYSCAN 720 is a urine chemistry analyzer which can be easily operated by a medical doctor or a
laboratory technician.
• ANYSCAN 720 can only be used with Self-Stik strips (2~11) manufactured by CHUNGDO
PHARM. CO., LTD.
• Maximum 720 tests per hour
• Sample (patient)’s ID input via keyboard or barcode reader.
• Memory capacity of maximum 100,000 tests.

ⓔ: Block of data that will be stored in database after measurement
ⓕ: Serial number of the data that will be stored in database after measurement
ⓖ: A serial number of the sample you are going to test

• The operator ID and test strip lot fields can be left blank if not needed.
• If patient/sample ID numbers are consecutive, enter only the first number, the others will be
entered automatically. In this case, each subsequent number will increase by one. The
numbering will be retained even if the system is restarted after a power failure.
• If no patient ID was entered, this field will appear blank when printed.
• If the ID number contains letters, each new number must be entered manually (automatic
numbering is only possible when the ID consists entirely of numbers).

• After entering the registration information manually or using a barcode scanner, press the ▶

(right) or ENT, then the entered information will be saved and the next patient/sample
information can be entered.

CDP-EA720-(R) 18 2022-04-7

analyzer with an RS-232C cable. Use the numeric keys or the ◀▶ and ENT to select the

start and end numbers of the data block.

• Printing of the data
There are two types of printing available.
“Print normal” allows you to print all the data in the selected block.
“Print abnormal” allows you to print only positive results in the selected block.

Use the numeric keys or the ◀▶ and ENT to select the start and end data block numbers.

The data will be printed in blocks of 50 tests.

The choice of data transmission mode or printout mode is carried out by the ▲▼ keys. In
case of mode change (data transmission ↔ printout), the start and end data block numbers
will be automatically changed to 0001.
• If the database is empty, the error message "No Data in Data Base" will appear in the
center of the display and the device will return to the previous mode. When data
processing is complete, the message “OK Finish!” will appear.

6. Maintenance of ANYSCAN 720

6.1 Daily check-up
1) Keep the device free of dust.
2) Store and operate the device indoors with no sudden changes in temperature.
3) Remove the strip loading plate and rinse it under running water. Reinstall after complete
drying. Also check the waste box, empty if necessary.

6.2 Storage precautions

1) Avoid dust accumulation on the device.
2) Do not leave the device unattended during severe temperature fluctuations.
3) Avoid inclined or vibrating storage surfaces.
4) Avoid any shock to the device when moving it.
5) Avoid the places with high temperature, high humidity, direct sunlight and air containing dust,
salt and sulfur.

6.3 Errors
1) Checking the waste box

CDP-EA720-(R) 21 2022-04-7
If the waste box is installed properly, the display will show ‘TRAY’. Install the waste box
properly and restart the device.
2) Checking the condition of the strip
A bent test strip may become lodged inside the strip loading plate. Remove the front panel
and remove the stuck strips.
3) Checking the front panel
Errors can occur due to an open or missing front panel. Test only with the front panel in
place. After installing the panel, wipe the sensor surface with a damp, clean cloth and restart
the device.
4) Checking the strip loading plate
Accumulation of urine sediment or other foreign matter on the strip loading tray may cause
the strip loading sensor to malfunction due to light reflection. In this case, the “Push bar”
error will be displayed on the screen.

6.4 Error messages and troubleshooting
