• A Beautiful Mind is a 2001 American biographical drama film.
The film was directed by Ron Howard. It is based on the life of
the American mathematician John Nash , a Nobel Lauerate in
Economics and Abel prize winner. The film stars Russell Crowe,
Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly, Paul Bettany, Adam Goldberg in
supporting roles.
• Digital Domain helped the filmmakers visualize Nash’s (Russell
Crowe’s) beautiful mind with 3D animations of mathematical
calculations. They also turned auniversity campus from fall to
summer by adding CG leaves to trees and put a baby in danger
by adding digital water to a dry bathtub.
• "A Beautiful Mind" stars Russell Crowe as John Nash who is one
of the greatest mathematicians, and a victim of schizophrenia.
He also believed for a time that Russians were sending him
coded messages on the front page of the New York Times, and
Jennifer Connelly as his wife, Alicia, who is pregnant with their
