1 INTRODUCTION

This document describes how to install an OmniPCX Office Cloud module in a 19” rack and the connections to
establish before a remote administrator can start its configuration.

2 ALCATEL-LUCENT OPENTOUCH OFFICE CLOUD MODULES

The Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch Office Cloud Modules are delivered with a 19 inches rack mounting kit.
When installed with the rack mounting kit, a total of 3U are used.

The OpenTouch Office Cloud Module –low traffic The OpenTouch Office Cloud Module –High traffic

contains 6 powerCPUs contains 5 powerCPUs with VOIP32

Each OpenTouch Office Cloud module comes with a QR-Code containing the list
of Mac addresses and serial numbers of the powerCPUs.

Power Consumption

Power budget for an Office Cloud module : 1,2A (230v) – 75 Watts

Additional required hardware not included:

ONE Power supply cord (not provided because depends on local power station/UPS)
5 OR 6 Ethernet cables

3 INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Install the 19” rack mounting KIT


Note that 3U are needed per chassis

Insert the Cloud module Chassis


Use the system locks to block the chassis.

LAN Connection

Connect the LAN Port of each CPU to the LAN Switch.

Power Connection

Plug a power supply in the rear of the Cloud module chassis

Power SUPPLY status


Power supply status is given ONLY by the POWER LED of the
CPU being on the Right top corner of the chassis:
OFF : No power supply
RED : power supply is OK but CPU not started
GREEN : power supply is OK
Rack M POWER SUPPLY is OK
Power LED is RED
Depth=400mm

When plugging the power supply, default state should be: Height=110mm
[2.5U ] Weight=11Kg

Length=442mm

Power LED is OFF

Push the power button of EACH CPU.

For a valid status:


POWER LED of the right Top CPU must be GREEN
All CPU LEDs of all cards must be green blinking.
All LAN LEDs of all cards must be green blinking on Ethernet
traffic.

Note that for completing the start of the CPUs, they must receive a valid IP address from a DHCP/BOOTP
server. Only after this IP address allocation, the CPU can be remotely managed by the administrator. During
this installation process, make sure to respect all security and technical requirements described in the
OmniPCX Office RCE installation manual available on Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Portal.
