Present Continuos
An action that is happening now.
Para formar el presente continuo se utiliza el verbo auxiliar “to be” y el verbo+ing.
Fórmula: subject + to be + verb+ing

SUBJECT TO BE MAIN VERB + ING SENTENCE

I am Jump I am jumping.
HE He is jumping.
SHE is Jump + ing = She is jumping.
IT It is jumping.
WE We are jumping.
YOU are jump You are jumping.
THEY They are jumping.

RULES IN THE PRESENT COUNTINOUS “ING”

1. Si el verbo termina en “e”, eliminamos la “e” y agregamos “ING”. Examples:


Live – living drive – driving erase – erasing

2. Si el verbo termina en “ie”, la reemplazamos por “y” y agregamos “ING”


Die – dying lie – lying

3. Si el verbo es de una sola silaba y termina en C+V+C, duplicamos la última


consonante y agregamos “ING”. Run – running
EXCEPCIONES:
Snow – snowing fly – flying cry - crying

4. Si el verbo es de 2 silabas a mas, termina en C+V+C+ y lleva mayor fuerza de voz


en la última silaba, duplicamos la última consonante y gregamos “ING”. Examples:
Begin – beginning prefer – preferring

5. Todos los demás verbos que no cumplan con ninguna de estas reglas
simplemente agregamos “ING”.
Examples:
listen – listening / learn – learning / work – working

utilizar el presente continuo de los verbos. Recuerda la fórmula “Subject + to be +
