The Simple Present Tense
The simple present tense is used in these situations:
1. General statements of fact, timeless truths. The world is round.
2. Opinions. I like my classes. I think he is a good teacher.
3. Regular events. I do my laundry two times a week.
4. Habits, routines. I always buy popcorn at the movie theater.

Frequency adverbs are often used with the simple present tense.

What is your morning routine?


B1 Read Marina’s morning routine, circle all the verbs you can find in simple present tense.
Most mornings, I have my alarm set for 5:50am, though I’m
usually up on my own by 5:30am, I read a book while I wait
for the alarm to go off. After I get up, head downstairs, turn on
the coffee machine, let the dogs out, and head out to water the
plants.
When I get back in, I take a super quick shower and get ready for work. I get dressed and take my coffee
to go. I get of work at 3:00 pm, so I have to prepare a couple of snacks to take them with me.

PRESENT PROGRESSIVE.
The present progressive expresses an activity that is in progress at
the moment of speaking. It is a temporary activity that bean in the
past, is continuing at present, and will probably en at some point in
the future.
