 Hardware:

1- Identify two hardware that are being used in any organization (school,
offices, markets, etc.) that are in need of an IT system:
- Laptop
- Smart Phone
- Tablet

2- Identify Two Inputs devices:

- Mouse
- Keyboard
- Touch-screen
- Sensors
- Joy stick
- Scanners
- Microphone

3- Define the term sensor:

It is the input device that detects physical aspects such as motion sensors and
temperature sensors.
4- Identify two outputs devices:
- Screen/Monitor
- Printer
- Speaker

5- Identify the measurements of the CUP (Processor “the brain”):

- MHz (Megahertz)
- GHz (Gigahertz)

 CPU is in charge of the processing, that why its mentioned as “the brain”
6- Identify two locations where you can storage the data, other than the
Hard disk
- Flash memory
- CD/DVD
- External Hard drive
- Online storage (such as ICloud )

7- Identify two characteristics of a RAM (Random Access Memory):

It’s a volatile (temporary) storage, the data stays in the RAM while the computer is
running and it’s much faster. As soon as the computer is shut down, the data will
be lost

8- Distinguish between primary storage (RAM) and secondary storage (DVD,

flash drive, external hardware, etc.)
- The primary storage is volatile (temporary), the data stay in the primary
storage (RAM) while the device (computer, phone, etc.) is running and it
saves a lot faster, as soon as the device is shut down, the data is lost.
- The secondary storage is non-volatile (permanent) the data is saved (in a
flash-drive and/or a CD/DvD) weather the device is running or not, its
portable, but is much slower

9- Identify two methods that could be used to remove the data permanently
from the hard disk:
- Using a special software (disk wiping software and/or disk shredding
software)
- Using a strong magnet

10- Identify the measurement unit of the secondary storage devices:

- MB
- KB
11- Identify the units for the internet speed/clock speed:
- Mbps
- Kbps

12- Identify two characteristics of a ASCII (American Standard Code

Informative Interchange):
- It is the numeric representation of a character
- It uses one Byte for each character

 Unicode the same as ASCII but uses 4 bytes

13- Identify two technologies that could be used by disabled users and
help them:
- Text-to-speech software
- Braille keyboard
- Zoom/large pointer

 RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification which is replacing the

barcode technology.
14- Define RFID and/or identify 2 characteristics of RFID
- RFID is wireless technology that consist of RFID tag and RFID reader;
RFID tag is a small ship that has the data of the product (e.g; barcode)
that is placed on the product, while the RFID reader reads the RFID tag.

15- Showcase the difference between RFID and the Barcode:

RFID Barcode
- Can be read from long - Must be read in short rang
distances - Can be damaged easily
- It can be operated in hard (either by a scratch or by
conditions rinsing in water)
- It can be read many products - It can be only be read one by
at once (no need for a cashier one
and/or counter)
