Skimming

is just having an overview of the topics without knowing the depth of thecontent

Scanning

is reading the text only for relevant and required knowledge

Intensive

reading is reading as a whole with learning of new vocabulary andmemorising the content

Extensive

reading is the critical reading in which you read the content in depth,stop where you dont
understand;contemplate,discuss with others what you haveread and write from that content. This is the
most effective type of reading

Reading style:

Skimming - reading rapidly to the main points or getting the overview of the material. In skimming, it
tells youwhat general information is within a section.2.

Scanning- reading rapidly through a text t find specific information required or finding the specific
facts.3.
Extensive reading- reading longer texts, often for pleasure or enjoyment and for an overall
understanding4.

Intensive Reading- involves learners reading in detail with specific learning aims and tasks. For
example:The students read a short paragraph and put events in chronological order.
