OPERATIONS RESEARCH

Title :- Flipkart Delivery Hub Managers and Last-mile Operations Head have a
fixed budget to execute Big Billion Days Sales deliveries. So, to minimize the
transportation cost from different delivery hubs to different destinations, we are
using transportation model to solve this problem and to ensure swift, efficient,
and reliable product distribution. These hubs serve as pivotal nodes within the
logistics framework, facilitating the seamless movement of products from the
warehouse to the customers' doorsteps. Equipped with cutting-edge technology
and a well-organized inventory management system, these delivery hubs
prioritize timely and secure deliveries, enhancing customer satisfaction and
fostering a robust e-commerce ecosystem in the heart of India's bustling capital.

 SYNOPSIS

The Operations Research project on Transportation Problem delves into

the application of mathematical optimization techniques to enhance the
efficiency of transportation logistics for a complex distribution
network. The project primarily focuses on addressing the challenges
associated with minimizing transportation costs while ensuring the
timely delivery of goods from fivedelivery hubs to various destinations.

The research begins with a comprehensive analysis of the existing

transportation network, taking into account factors such as distances,
capacities, and costs associated with each route. Utilizing algorithms
such as the Transportations, Vogel's Approximation Method, the study
formulates an optimized transportation plan that minimizes total
transportation costs while meeting the demands of different
destinations.

Moreover, the project evaluates the impact of various constraints and

uncertainties on the transportation system.The findings of the study
provide valuable insights and practical recommendations for decision-
makers and the delivery hub managers, enabling them to streamline
operations, reduce overhead costs, and enhance overall supply chain
performance.

Additionally, the research contributes to the growing body of

knowledge in the field of Operations Research, emphasizing the
significance of mathematical optimization in addressing complex
transportation challenges in contemporary logistics networks.
 Research Methodology
We have collected the data through Questionnaire Method by
physically visiting the Flipkart Delivery Hubs to apply
in our project.

Operation Research Model

In this project we will use transportation model for this topic
and also obtain a suitable solution through the data

collected by Questionnaire Method.
