GREEN ENERGY AND CARBON NEUTRAL

ECOSYSYTEM
Nowadays most green energy is becoming ever more prevalent in both developed and developing
countries. Some argue they greatly reduce costs and are better for the environment, others believe
they are a serious threat to energy security. The world today uses more renewable energy than ever
before since it contributes to the preservation of the environment and is economically sound.
Without damaging the environment, the generated energy is called green energy. The use of green
energy does not emit any toxic substance into our atmosphere. With its use, increasing global
warming on Earth can be reduced to a great extent.

Now we use the source of energy like coal, petroleum, etc. It is all limited. And its use causes great
harm to our environment. There are sources of green energy such as wind energy, solar energy,
water energy, and biogas energy, etc. The source of green energy is never exhausted and it can be
used for generations. Because as long as the sun keeps shining we will get solar energy, the source of
green energy is almost infinite. Use of green energy is essential for keeping the clean and natural
balance of any planet. In any discussion about climate change, renewable energy usually tops the
list. That's because renewable energy sources such as solar and wind don't emit carbon dioxide and
other greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming. The use of green energy is being
promoted all over the world, and our future energy will be green energy only. Green energy is that
which comes from natural sources, such as the sun which do not release pollutants into the air, and
are constantly being replenished and decreases emissions of harmful gases like carbon dioxide.

Carbon neutrality means having a balance between emitting carbon and absorbing carbon from the
atmosphere in carbon sinks. It is a state of net-zero carbon dioxide emissions. This can be achieved
by balancing emissions of carbon dioxide with its removal or by eliminating emissions from society.
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are one of the main causes of climate change. Reaching carbon
neutrality by 2050 is one of the key goals in the fight against climate change. It is possible that
reaching carbon neutrality, a state in which the amount of carbon dioxide released into the
atmosphere is equal to the amount removed. It will emerge as the most important global
environmental objective of the 21st century.

Carbon dioxide makes up the vast majority of greenhouse gas emissions from the sector, but smaller
amounts of other gases are also emitted. These gases are released during the combustion of fossil
fuels, such as coal, oil, and natural gas, to produce electricity. When fossil fuels are burned, they
release large amounts of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, into the air. Greenhouse gases trap heat
in our atmosphere, causing global warming. Human activities such as the burning of oil, coal and gas,
as well as deforestation are the primary cause of the increased carbon dioxide concentrations in the
atmosphere. Fossil fuels – coal, oil and gas – are by far the largest contributor to global climate
change, accounting for over 75 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions and nearly 90 per cent
of all carbon dioxide emissions.

Green energy can be regarded as an important factor in reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Green
energy minimizes carbon pollution and has a much lower impact on our environment. Renewables
generate more energy than is used in their production, and produce fewer emissions than other
power sources over their lifetime. While all sources of electricity result in some greenhouse gas
emissions over their lifetime, green energy sources have fewer emissions than fossil fuels. While
fossil fuels will run out in 50 years, green energy is here and will never run out. Greenhouse gas
emissions can be reduced by making power on-site with renewables and other climate-friendly
energy resources. Examples include rooftop solar panels, solar water heating, small-scale wind
generation, fuel cells powered by natural gas or renewable hydrogen, and geothermal energy.

Benefits of green energy:

Green energy generates no emissions [Generating electricity from fossil fuels creates a lot of
greenhouse gas emissions.

• It lowers your carbon footprint.

• It reduces harmful air pollutants.
• It uses less water.
• It benefits the economy.
• Generating energy that produces no greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels and reduces
some types of air pollution
• Diversifying energy supply and reducing dependence on imported fuels
• Creating economic development and jobs

Renewable energy sources are much cleaner than fossil fuels and, in some cases, like solar and
wind power, they are totally clean sources of energy. They differ from fossil fuels principally in
their diversity, abundance and potential for use anywhere on the planet, but above all in that
they produce neither greenhouse gases – which cause climate change – nor polluting emissions.
Renewable energy produces zero waste. There are no carbon emissions of greenhouse gases
that contribute to climate change or air pollution. It is, thus, one of the best choices for countries
combating the climate change problem.

Climate change is already affecting the entire world, with extreme weather conditions such as
drought, heat waves, heavy rainy, floods and landslides becoming more frequent. The increasing
global industrialization and over-exploitation of fossil fuels has induced the release of
greenhouse gases, leading to an increase in global temperature and causing environmental
issues. There is therefore an urgent necessity to reach net-zero carbon emissions. Long-term
strategies that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency are necessary to reduce carbon
emissions and attain carbon neutrality. A transition away from fossil fuel energy sources and
toward renewable energy sources is critical to attaining future carbon neutrality.

Carbon neutrality will greatly slow down global warming and solve our energy crisis, with
accompanying benefits to air quality, ecological recovery, and landscape beautification. It may,
therefore, be regarded as an industrial revolution that would mark an important milestone in
human development. Our ecosystem is bigger. It’s a home for every living and non living residing
on the earth. It has provided all of us a shelter and has treated us well. But when the climate
changes, the temperature increases, the sea level rises; it is time to change the way we treat it.
We should dream of an ecosystem where there is no production of fossil fuels to focus entirely
on green energy. We have to utilize all the renewable green energy which will never runs out
and will be there even after we die. We should create a world that runs entirely in green energy
and thereby further achieve the goal of carbon neutrality. Because the ecosystem, which we call
our home also needs care and care is nothing without action.
