K-12 IS A BLESSING NOT A BURDEN

Introduction

The K-12 program was implemented with the purpose of improving the
education system, to help the country flourish in the future and also to be able to
compete with the standards of our foreign competitors. The government believes that
this program is the key to the nation’s development. The program will keep us at par
with the academic standards with that of the greater foreign nations. The K-12 is also
good for those who do not have plans of going to college, because after graduating the
program you are already eligible to get a job.

Body

This ensures that harvest of intellectually, physically and morally disciplined

students are started on a right foot. The growing need of the nation to prepare its
workforce as early and as efficient will only be made possible through collective efforts
starting from the top most legislators to the parents who’d guide their children in this
new system of education.

The Department of Education (2010), also noticed some problems in the present
curriculum because it was observed that there was overcrowding of subjects thus
leading to no mastery amongst students and that there is no specialization because
most subjects focus on academics’ area but does not develop manual skills. Because
of this, several reforms were formulated and started but because results in improving
the quality of education is not easily seen, the Department of Education came forth in
addressing the improvement of the quality of education through their proposal of
implementing the K+12education system which is adopted in most countries around
the globe.
The K-12 Program aims to provide students with enhanced curriculum so they
will be better prepared for work. The curriculum will equip students with middle-level
skills so they can be given more opportunities to be gainfully employed or become
entrepreneurs.

Conclusion

The k-12 program as a whole, brings with it a lot of potential to bring significant
changes in our educational system. This practice can be forced out of the education
system because it requires much higher grades and more effort. Therefore, it is just
right to view the implementation of the K-12 program as a blessing, and not a burden.
