 ASPHALTIC CONCRETE WEARING COURSE (ACWC)


Asphaltic Concrete is mixture of asphalt binder and aggregate thoroughly mixed
and compacted into a mass. The Wearing Course is the upper layer in roadway,
airfield, and dockyard construction. It is typically placed on the base course,
which is normally placed on the sub base, which rests on the sub grade. There
are various different types of flexible pavement wearing course, suitable for
different situations.

 BITUMINOUS MACADAM WEARING COURSE (BMWC)


Bitumen Macadam is a mixture of aggregate, filler and bitumen and can be
dense, medium or open graded depending on the end application. Macadam can
be classified into three main layer categories: Base, Binder and Surface Course.
Base and Binder course materials usually form the lower layers in a pavement.
These layers give the pavement its load bearing capability. The Wearing Course
is the upper layer in roadway, airfield, and dockyard construction. It is typically
placed on the base course, which is normally placed on the sub base, which rests
on the sub grade. There are various different types of flexible pavement wearing
course, suitable for different situations.

 BITUMINOUS MACADAM BINDER COURSE (BMBC)


Bitumen Macadam is the hot mix asphalt course immediately below the surface
course, generally consisting of a mixture of aggregate, filler and bitumen and can
be dense, medium or open graded depending on the end application. Macadam
can be classified into three main layer categories: Base, Binder and Surface
Course. Base and Binder course materials usually form the lower layers in a
pavement. These layers give the pavement its load bearing capability. The
coarse aggregates for the DBM mix consists of crushed rock, crushed gravel or
other hard material retained on the 2.36mm sieve.

 DENSE BITUMINOUS MACADAM COURSE (DBM)


Dense Bitumen Macadam is mainly used as binder course for roads having much
higher number of heavy commercial vehicles. In DBM mix there is a wide scope
of varying the gradation to obtain the good mix without affecting the durability of
pavement.
