Leaves is a song created by Ben&Ben, they released it on 2017. There is a music video of it on
Youtube that is about family but I will base my criticism on the lyrics. In my own opinion, the
lyrics is about a person who’s on a healing phase of his life, the person on the lyrics became
heartbroken because someone left him and didn’t fulfill the promise that he said on the person.
But in the end, the person learned to forgive the one who break his heart. On the part that says
“Leaves will soon grow from the bareness of trees, and all will be alright in time. From waves
overgrown come the calmest of seas, and all will be alright in time”, the person means that even
if he’s hurting, the time will come that he finally moved on. The person really loved the one that
he is mentioning on the song because he forgave her on the things that she did on him, this part is
based on the line “you never really love someone until you learn to forgive”. Ben&Ben is
popular for writing a healing and sad songs, “Leaves” compare to “The Once We Once Loved” is
much more calming because it can heal someone by listening to this song while the other song
break the listener’s heart much more.
