My Personal Goal:
- Developing a poster to raise awareness on the international teacher’s
day

Description

For the international teachers’ day, I made a poster that was displayed on the
teacher’s room front door. The main aim of this project is to raise awareness about
the role of teachers providing quality education and improving their situation
worldwide. It’s a day where we appreciate what teachers has done for us throughout
our whole education. For this project, many students, including myself, had created a
poster to celebrate this day. The poster was submitted the 4th October, which was
one day earlier than the event. I used a whole class of etude encadres to finish the
poster.

Reflection on CAS Learning Outcomes

- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing
new skills in the process

During this project, my creativity and artistic skills improved, and I learned more
about an event that I didn’t know exited, the international teachers’ day. During this
project, I could see that my poster making skills became better compared to before.
The creation of posters has never really been my forte, however this event helped
me fix this issue. By focusing a bit on my poster designing skills, I was able to make a
poster better than I expected from myself.

- Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth

Before anything else, this was the first time that I was participating in the creation of a
poster for an unknown event. The process took longer than expected because I had
to research about the principle of this event, and find a way to make a poster that
respects this event. Since the posters I found during my research mostly consisted of
pictures and some appreciation, I selected some simple picture that could be viewed
from afar and I pasted them around the poster. My classmate wrote the title of the
poster and it was a wrap. During this experience, I developed my research skills
because I acquired knowledge about this celebration. I was also able to improve my
designing skills because I had to outline the pictures in the most creative way
possible with the given space. This project helped me realize that there is no shortcut
to success apart from constant practice. With constant practice, I was able to develop
a poster, which I would personally call one of the best I’ve ever done.
