Introduction (Pasi-una)
I am John Clieffe P. Limotan, leading the study entitled “Effectiveness of the Visibility of
the Barangay Tanods in Barangay Adlaon in Coordination with Policemen; Securing Peace and
Order within the Community”. I am conducting the study along with other four members: Ace
P. Ardines, Christ Dave C. Sorela, Romero E. Leyson Jr., and Jay Bryl O. Velayo . This will surely
help in determining the effectiveness of Barangay tanods in coordination with the policemen.
In light of this, I am inviting you to participate in this study and request that you spend a
few minutes answering this questionnaire honestly. This was also considered and approved by the
Barangay Captain. This is completely voluntary, and you may choose not to participate. If you
choose to participate in the study, our researchers will provide you with a survey document. If
there are portions of the questionnaire that you do not understand, feel free to approach a member
for clarification. Rest assured that all responses will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

Makatabang gyud kini sa pagtino sa kaepektibo sa mga barangay tanod sa pakig-alayon sa mga
polis. Tungod niini, gidapit ko ikaw sa pag-apil niini nga pagtuon ug naghangyo nga mogahin ka

Purpose of the research (Katuyoan sa Panukiduki)

This study will be conducted at Barangay Adlaon Cebu City. The purpose of this study is
to determine the Effectiveness of Visibility of Barangay Tanods in Coordination with the
Policemen.

Kini nga pagtuon himuon sa Barangay Adlaon Cebu City. Ang katuyoan niini nga pagtuon
mao ang pagtino sa Epektibo sa Visibility sa mga Barangay Tanod sa Koordinasyon sa mga Pulis.
Type of Research Intervention (Matang sa Interbensyon sa Panukiduki)

This study will require 367 respondents to complete a questionnaire provided by the
researchers. The study will be conducted in a face-to-face set up. After the data gathering, all
data will be retrieved and will be used for research purposes only.

Kini nga pagtuon nanginahanglan ug 367 ka mga respondents aron makompleto ang usa
ka pangutana nga gihatag sa mga tigdukiduki. Ang pagtuon himuon sa usa ka face-to-face set
up. Pagkahuman sa pagkolekta sa datos, ang tanan nga datos makuha ug gamiton alang sa
katuyoan sa panukiduki.
Duration (Ang Gidugayon)

The duration of this study will run within 5 months. The members will visit the Barangay
and conduct the survey. If you intend to participate in the investigation, then it will take 5-10
minutes only. Your engagement as a respondent will only take once.
Ang gidugayon niini nga pagtuon modagan sulod sa 5 ka bulan. Ang mga miyembro
mobisita sa Barangay ug mohimo sa survey. Kung gusto nimo nga moapil sa imbestigasyon,

Participant selection (Pagpili sa mga Sumasalmot)
We are inviting residents who would like to participate in the survey voluntarily.

Your participation in this research is entirely voluntary. It is your choice whether to
participate or not. Whether you choose to participate or not, it does not affect you, your family and
the community. You may withdraw your participation in the study at any time without incurring a
penalty, and no action will be taken against you. In addition, you do not waive any legal claims
over your participation in this study. The researcher and/or members will provide in-depth
responses to any questions you may have on your legal rights.

Procedures and Protocol (Mga Pamaagi ug Mga Lagda)

In this investigation, there will be research members who are assigned to conduct the survey.
The members will explain the objectives and the contents of this study. After verifying that you
understand the goal of the study, the members will ask as whether you wish to participate. Once
you agree to participate in the study, you will be given a questionnaire on which you can indicate
your answers and which questions you wish to respond. If you do not intend to respond to some
questions, you may skip them and proceed to the next question. The research members will
document all your answers using the statistical tool.

I am asking you to share your assessment on the services of the resort. You do not have to
respond to all questions if you are not comfortable and no reasons will be asked. The members will
simply accept your decision on skipping some questions or your withdrawal.

There will be no immediate benefits given to you or your family or the community. But this
study might help determine the Effectiveness of Visibility of Barangay Tanods in Coordination
with the Policemen.

Confidentiality (Kompidensyal nga Pagtagad)

Your participation and the information that we collect from this study will be kept
confidential. Information about you and other guests will be put away where only the research
members are able to see it. With the help of the University of Cebu-Banilad Research Office, all
data collected during the study will be kept by the research office to make ensure that nobody can
access it. In case there are some interested individuals who would like to access the data, the
research investigator should ask the permission from the University of Cebu.

Sharing the Results (Pagpaambit sa mga Resulta ug Sangputanan)

At the end of the study, I will discuss the results to the research instructor, advisor, and
panel members. Only the applicable and relevant findings will be presented observing the provisions
of Data Privacy Act particularly on avoiding the respondents’ identity to be disclosed. I will ask
first the permission of the University of Cebu before this study will be published for otherinterested
people may learn from this investigation.
