INTERACTIVE SUMMARY

Among the conclusions I took from the organized premier talk is that by knowing our values
and purpose, we may be successful and happy by remaining loyal to ourselves. Students at
UTM have four basic values which are integrity, synergy, excellence, and sustainability. All of
these key values helped students develop into well-rounded academics. Integrity is defined
as adhering to sound moral standards and ethical principles. This great virtue must be
instilled in our hearts and minds. Furthermore, synergy is defined as the instilling of team
spirit, cohesion, inclusion, and collegiality. When we use synergy in our lives, we may
mutually define and agree on the team's vision and goal. Furthermore, any student with
synergy value is committed to success, often going the "extra mile" to meet personal goals
and help other team members, and will respect and promote variety, idealism, ethnic and
social background. Furthermore, presenters state that because of their growth attitude,
excellent individuals will work harder than anybody else, strive for first place in all they do,
and live a balanced existence. To achieve sustainability, we must be conscious of the state of
the planet and the interconnection of what is happening. In addition, Prof. Datuk IR. Dr.
Wahid Bin Omar also shared his thoughts on integrity, stating that persons who compromise
their integrity should not be looked up to as role models. Next, Mrs. Salmiha Binti Saidin, an
investigating officer at the Johor SPRM, then spoke about corruption. She added that 54.7%
of those successfully apprehended by the SPRM (a total of 2525 persons) were youngsters
throughout five years (2013-2018). Bribery is defined as accepting or offering bribes for a
person performing or failing to perform an act linked to his official obligations. The presenter
also stated that corruption will ruin one's own life because happiness is impermanent. After
hearing this discussion, I believe that integrity is crucial in every individual to prevent
receiving bribes. We shall become good and disciplined persons if we practice the value of
honesty. Corruption has many forms, and as public figures, we must be aware of the various
sorts of corruption to prevent it from spreading further.
